  Chapter Three

I swallowed down a nervous lump as I stared at the man stood in front of me. I couldn't stop staring at him because never have I ever seen anyone that looked as good as him. The guy that assaulted me was long gone, actually he ran away in fear, but I was too preoccupied staring wide-eyed to notice much that was happening around me.

Intense, dark eyes burned into mine. It was like one of those surreal moments were nothing felt real. He was tall, built and wearing a formal black tie suit with a white shirt. His formal attire made him look like someone important and I bet he was by the way that guy had taken off, he was.

Being attacked was gone from my mind as I continued checking out the man that just saved me.  His black hair was styled and hanging slightly over his eyes, and those lips. God. I was thankful the club was partially dark enough to hide how much I was flushing inside and out.

He was standing with his hands dug inside his pockets, checking me out as much as I was him, or that’s what it looked like by the way his eyes were trailing up and down my body. I felt my body recoil as my conscious reminded me that I was so not good enough to even be looking at this guy, and that he was probably taking pity on the fat chick wearing a tight dress.

In an attempt to compose myself somehow, I dampened my lips with my tongue and finally brought my eyes away from his. I worked on controlling my breathing as I finally came to terms with what just happened.

I was just groped by some random asshole in a club. My friends have disappeared, I don't know where my brother is, I have no phone and I was positively sure I was drunk. Not only that, the hottest guy i've ever seen on earth has just saved me and currently still looking at me.

“Um..." I trailed off, too scared to look at him in case I started gawping again. "Thanks for that."

“You’re welcome.” Oh god, his voice. "You should be more careful. There are plenty more from where he's come from."

I nodded and finally brought my eyes back up to his again. The music was still blasting around us and the loud chatters of people, but it was just me and him, sucked into another world. Or that's what it felt like to me.

"Yeah," I mumbled, not sure if he could hear me, but I didn't care. "Thanks again...I'll go now."

I went to move but stopped when he stepped in front of me, blocking my path. I felt my stomach flip with excitement and nerves. He was standing close, that close I could smell his expensive cologne that smelled so good.

I didn't know why, but I didn't feel like myself, different somehow. Mystery man looked down into my eyes, once again seizing hold of me. I felt momentarily uncomfortable, like my body was on full display for him and he could see everything.

“E-excuse me,” I stuttered, feeling the hotness lingering on my cheeks. Suddenly he smirked and I melted. I, Layla Honda, was melting? What the hell was going on with me, he's just a guy. Okay, I mentally slapped myself because he was clearly not just some guy.

“I knew you'd be trouble when you walked in," he sighed and I frowned in confusion, “You’re breaking the law.”

“What?”

“You’re underage... and I don’t tolerate seventeen year old girls in my club.”

My mouth dropped open in shock, his club? This guy's the owner of The Wolf Cave, and he knows my real age? I calmed myself quickly because it wasn't like I had my age stamped on my forehead and besides, anybody could say they are the owner of a club.

"I don’t know what you’re talking about-”

“Do you really want to lie to me?” He stepped closer towards me and it was in that moment my breath was knocked right out of my lungs, leaving me gasping slightly. I stepped back, not trusting myself being so close to him.

“Fine, I’ll leave...”

I turned around, needing to get away from him, but before I could move I felt a hand clasp around my upper arm so quickly it had my heart skipping a momentous beat. I turned my head to see his eyes fiercely blazing into my own, the warmth of his hand sending a muster of tingles up my arm.

“I didn’t say you could leave,” he said in that same calm tone that had my body shivering.

I stared at him, my mouth now becoming dry. I was suddenly overcome with a strong urge to kiss him. Was I unknowingly that drunk? I bit my lip and yanked my arm away from his hand. All I knew was that he was possibly the owner of this club and was angry that someone underage was in his club.
