My entire body was shaking. My heart was pounding. I sat on the couch, my head twisting back and forth, looking for any kinds of movement. I whimper to myself, lowering my head down and laying on the couch. My heart was practically beating out of my chest. I found it hard to breath. It was dark dark in my home, despite it only being about seven P.M, and only sunset. But things were darker for me. None of the lights in the house were on, and I couldn't even bring myself to flick them on.
Suddenly, I hopped up, my eyes focused on the stairs. I heard a creak from above, which means a footstep upstairs. Right?! I leaped off the couch, using my legs to thrust myself off, and bounded towards the stairs. I ran up them as fast as my tall, thin legs could go. Even if I couldn't fend off what was up there, I could atleast attack it. I ran around all of upstairs, which isn't much, only three rooms. The place was empty. But I heard something...I whined to myself and slowly skulked back downstairs, and plopped down infront of the couch, on the cold wood floor. I figured that if any monsters or murderers or kidnappers broke in, it'd probably be better if I didn't see. After laying there for a not-so-long-time, I fell asleep.
I soon woke up with a jolt. My head snapped to the front door, where I heard something metallic. I slowly rose to my feet, staring intently at the door. If it was a murderer, or a kidnapper, or a monster, I would attack them. I could do something to them, couldn't I? I watched as that light gray dornknob slowly turned. With a loud click, the door opened. I burst at the door, barking like mad. If this is a monster, or murderer, or kidnapper, I will attack with all my might!
As soon as I saw who it was, I skidded to a dead stop. When I saw him, I was instantly overjoyed! He barely had enough time to open the door before I pounced on him. He was surprised, so he stumbled backwards, outside. He nearly fell down, but managed to keep us both balanced. My tail was wagging a million miles an hour, and he patted my head, which felt oh-so-good!
"How is my girl?" He said, in a sweet voice as I licked his face.
