What kind of dude hits a female?!

"Calm down man, dont do nothing stupid", Shad said

I raised my eyebrow

"Look, I know your pissed but think of Vashanti"

"I am thinking of her!", I yelled

"Then handle it like a man, not a jiit"

I breathed in and out to calm my heart down. It was beating so fast, you would think it was going to burst out my chest.

"Alright, lets go:

I pulled up to Vashanti's house, the lights were on meaning someone or everyone was home. Shad and I walked up to the door and knocked on it. A woman who looked like an older version of Vashanti opened the door.

"Hi, I Malik Im-"

"Vashanti's boyfriend, I know" She said

She stepped aside, letting us come inside.

"And you must be Shad"

"Yes ma'am"

She nodded her head

"Im assuming you both know what happened?"

We nodded our heads and she continued

"She wont let me go to the police", She said ", And I was hoping you would talk to her".

"Ill try my best"

"Please, she wont listen to me or her father, who called her from work"

She started to cry, I wrapped her arms around her and rubbed her back. When was done crying she waved us off to got upstairs.

We ran upstairs to see Stacy holding Vashanti.

I felt myself tensed but calmed down, seeing that my girl needed me. Now isnt the time Ill deal with that fool later.

"Bee?"

She looked up at me, her were puffy from crying and her hair seemed to be all over the place. She jumped up and ran into my arms and cried.

"It's okay Bee I'm here"

Stacy cleared her throat "So we are going to leave, Malik talk some sense into her"

She grabbed Shad's hand and walked out , they closed the door behind them.

"Malik, I don't want to talk about it"

"He hit you and you expect me to drop it?!"

She turned to me

"He said he would do something if I told, I am not taking that chance!" She screamed

I shook my head

"When will you understand that you are not alone anymore!"

"Your point?" She snapped

I counted to ten before answering

"You are surrounded by people who care for you and you just shut us out!"

"Maybe I don't need you!"

My voice was caught in my throat, tears started to come but I held them back. When she said that, it felt like she punched me in the stomach.

I wish she did

"Fine" I said

I turned on my heel to leave, wen I heard her voice

"Malik, please don't leave me!"

I turned around and hugged her.

"As long as I'm here, I won't"

I kissed her cheek and walked out. I can't bear to see her do this to herself.

Vashanti

I need to calm down, I cant breathe and I'm freaking out so bad!

I need to practice, maybe focusing on something else will distract me. I plugged my iPhone into my speakers, as I scrolled down I thought about what Malik said. I don't mean to shut everyone out, but I can't help it.

I pushed play, the music began to flow through the speakers. I opened my mouth and began to sing.

I wiped my tears from my eyes, I needed Malik to understand. I know he was mad at me but still, I'm so confused.
