Prologue

“You were on the brink of the fire, and the God saved you from it.”

There are laws that govern the universe, laws that should not be bent or broken.  We do not always adhere to those laws, and although Time may provide a delayed reaction, there must always be a Reckoning.

Throughout the ages, since the beginning of time and the creation of the first man and woman, there has been a Promise:  a Promise of Justice for the oppressed.  A Promise of Salvation for those in need of rescue.  A promise of redemption and forgiveness for those who would seek it.

On Sahyun, the Creation story has been preserved in what we call The Histories.  The

Majani, the oldest of the tribes of Sahyun, have guarded The Histories since the early times.  It is written that at the end of the Trial Times a select people will arise.  It is written that these people will be scattered throughout the universe and gifted with the ability to quicken the hearts of men and women with the remembrance of Purpose.  It is written that they will be known by their abilities, abilities greater and stronger than the average man or woman.  It is written that they will have the power to restore balance to the course of men and women’s lives, if men and women so choose to be restored.

On Sahyun, they are called the Al Sahifah.

The knowledge of the Sahifah has been guarded, violently protected, and held secret by the Majani and the Waliyun for ages.  Only Al Sahifah can decode the Cipher Key, and as it is written, only those who know Al Sahifah can be saved from the Great Darkness.
