{04} Midnight Adventure

I woke up with a jolt. A searing pain plagued my right shoulder. I poked it with my finger and instantly regretted doing so; it was sensitive to the touch.

Groaning, I lay back down on my bed and stared up at the ceiling. For as long as I could remember, the three nights of the full moon caused me to have cryptic dreams that I forgot as soon as I woke up. I didn't mind them.

Much.

The only problem was the pain I'd feel in various parts of my body after the dreams.

I groaned again, knowing that I never could go to sleep after those stupid nightmares, and got up and went to my window.

It was the first night of the full moon. I traced its outline with my eyes. It wasn't a full circle yet. I sighed; knowing that tomorrow would be worse. I gazed out my window and took in the scenery. Hadrian forest stretched as far as the eye could see. The silver moonlight made everything look right out of a dark fairytale .

I always wanted to enter Hadrian forest as bravely as the young man who was entering it now.

Wait, what? I sat up straight and looked out my window and sure enough, there he was; the man entering Hadrian forest.

I watched, intrigued, as the young man made a couple of signs at the edge of the forest. I watched closely and for a second I thought that there was a force field around the forest the way the air shimmered.

The forest was practically my back yard, considering I didn't have a fence yet. I could easily walk in their.

The young man disappeared into the forest and I decided I would follow suit. Tying my hair up, I wore my trainers and donned a thick black hoodie and matching black jeans and got ready to follow the stranger.

Just as I was sliding out the window I decided to bring my cell in case something happened. And then I climbed out. The cold air greeting me and made goose bumps appear.

I  followed the boy for the fifteen minutes. I had good navigational skills, so I knew I would have no problem finding my way back. The boy would stop every now and then and look at a few things as if determining whether he was on the right track or not.

I was so engrossed in watching the boy check his surroundings that I didn't pay attention to where I was putting my foot and sure enough, there was the sound of leaves crunching and twigs snapping under my weight.

The noise seemed loud enough to wake the dead up. We both stiffened and as slowly as I could, I crouched down so he wouldn't see me. The boy slowly turned around and looked directly at the place where I had been standing a few seconds ago.

This gave me a chance to study him. He was 6 feet 2 inches tall approximately and had a lean, muscled body. At the minute he was wearing a dark black hoodie similar to mine with its hood up making it hard to see his face as it cast a dark shadow on it.

How ever, his jaw and chin were visible, so were his features from the bridge of the nose down. He had a lean, strong jaw and full pink lips. I could see part of his cheeks were a rosy colour due to the cold. Even the tip of his nose was slightly red.

I subconsciously licked my lips and my gaze travelled back to his own full ones. I watched him turn around and moved onward again.

I sighed with relief and let out a breath that I had been holding. I'll have to be extremely careful now.

I followed the mystery man to a clearing. He looked at the moon and tapped his foot impatiently. A few moments later other figures emerged from the shadows of the forest.

"What took you so long?" my mystery man asked impatiently.

A man stepped forward. He was wearing a big black cloak with a hood. Unlike my mystery man his face was concealed entirely by the shadows cast by his hood. At his waist a golden rope was tied. Something told me he was a very important person.

"Watch it cub. Just because you're Wolff's son," He said and I knew he was scowling by the tone of his voice, "does, under no circumstance, mean that you'll disrespect me." His voice was deep and held authority.

I watched, my breath held in my throat, as the mystery boy casually shrugged and laughed. I knew what he was doing. He was trying to extremely piss off this guy. That little gesture gave me a little insight to his personality; he had authority issues. I almost giggled.

However the cloaked man did not find it funny, "Listen here you insolent little-"
