I meant to shoo Ace Lockwood from my dome at midnight.

The intention was at the time solid and I had been constantly glancing at the clock, prepared to push him out my front door the second that short hand struck twelve.

But my plan was diverted the moment the two of us began to have difficulty keep our eyelids open. A few attempted twitches to wake up failed and I ended up slouching softly against Ace. Despite his rather loud snoring, I soon followed in his state, sinking into slumber beside him.

So, in other wording, I failed to go through with my banish-ace-from-habitat plan since I did indeed end up sleeping beside Ace Lockwood for the rest of the night.

Never had my couch been so comfy.

A hand skimmed against my back, pressing softly to the exposed skin above my waistband. Tingles erupted unexpectedly, my breath hitching and eyes fluttering open.

Holy Crap

That's when I realized I was sprawled out onto Ace, his back to couch, our bodies flush against each other. Unnerving emotions probed at my senses when I noticed just how tightly he was clutching me. One arm was wrapped snuggly around my waist and the other was unconsciously cupping my lower leg, dangerously near to my butt.

"Ace," I whispered softly, trying to gently ease myself from his grasp, "Wake up - Ace!"

Ace abruptly jerked upwards at my tone sending us over as we slipped off the couch in the form of tangled limbs. I landed onto the carpet and before he could crush me, Ace propped up his elbows, lessening his weight as I felt him land on top of me.

His eyes hazed over as he clearly took in our situation, a small smirk forming at his lips. My heart flipped and suddenly breathing took thinking.

"Morning," he uttered gruffly.

Awkwardly, I grinned, trying to wave, "Hi, Ace."

Neither of us separated, the compromising position were situated in seemed to keep us magnetically pulled together. I was positive someone had inserted glue between us.

His breath fanned my face and I could feel the quick rhythm of our heart beats swaying together. It should be illegal for a male to smell so godly. I involuntarily bit my lip upon noticing how Ace’s gaze continued to flicker to my mouth every second or so.

"Flo," Ace grumbled, his fingers weaving into my hair. His hazel eyes, always resembling both green leaves and chocolate, were undeniably captivating, sucking me in. My chest clenched when his thumb brushed my cheek.

"Yeah?" I breathed.

An indescribable expression crossed over his eyes before he rumbled, "I'm going to kiss you."

Wait, what?

No. Yes. Of course you can - of course you can't. Never. Okay. I thought short and hard and the answer trailed behind.

"Uhm, no," I uttered with the most willpower I could muster. No stammering, no desperate eye flickering. My answer was firm and unmistakable, taking even myself by surprise.

He looked positively puzzled, “No?"

"No," I echoed, nodding my head to convey what I was implying.
