Before my mum died I was playing next to the river, Tai and Blade were fishing and Nyte was helping mum with the cooking. I was practising my powers when a man appeared. I jumped and faced him. He was tall with a black cloak covering his face. I stepped back and his hood fell down, revealing a man with bright white eyes and black hair. I looked at him strangely before seeing a scar on his neck and trying to back away.
“What’s your name,” he smiled.
“Mynx,” I whispered and kept backing away but he copied and soon I stood knee deep in water, not daring to go further or the rapids would have swept me away, “Who are you?”
“It doesn’t matter,” he growled and his eyes flashed red for a second.
“Why are you here,” I whispered.
“Someone sent me to speak to your mummy…” he smiled.
“I don’t believe you…” I whispered and I saw his eyes darken slightly, “Why are you here?”
“To teach your mum a lesson,” he smirked and dove for me.
I screamed before going underwater and hitting my head on a rock as he teleported us away. I felt my lungs fill with water before feeling someone compress my chest, trying to free my lungs of water. I began coughing and coughed up some water before feeling his arms holding me tightly against his chest. I tried to scream but his hand was clamped over my mouth as another man appeared with a woman following him. I bit down on my attacker’s hand before tasting blood as he shoved me to the ground. I groaned as the woman walked over and handed me a pile of clothes.
“Leave her alone Drake. She nearly drowned,” she snapped and hugged me but it felt wrong, her arms were bony and awkward as they slid around my toned body.
“Who are you?” I hissed.
“I’m Drake that’s Molly and this is Rip,” my attacker growled.
“Why me,” I whispered.
“Ha! Like you don’t know,” Rip chuckled in a throaty voice from the shadows.
“I don’t,” I growled and lit up the room with a ball of fire, “Now at least I can see.”
“Put that fire out,” Rip and Drake growled.
“Mynx sweetheart your mum killed our family, its only right…” Molly whispered.
“What no she didn’t!” I growled as I stood.
“Sit down girl,” Drake growled and drew a knife.
“No,” I growled and he slashed my back and kicked me to the floor. I screamed.
Rip pinned me to the ground on my tummy and exposed my back. I heard Molly turn and then felt the cold metal of Drake’s knife slicing my back. He turned it and I felt my blood pour out before he kept moving it, making a slice about an inch deep before he took the knife away and spread something on top of my wounds as Rip stood and Drake pushed a needle into my neck before pushing a liquid into my blood that made me pass out.
The next time I woke I was chained to a wall wearing a pair of shorts and a crop top, exposing a lot of skin, not what I was wearing when they took me. When I looked down my body was covered in healing scars and bruises. I whimpered and as I pulled from the chains they snapped and I fell to the floor. I slid out of the chains and looked at my skinny arms and legs; they had barely been keeping me alive. I looked at my tummy where you could see every muscle. I cried silently before slipping into the shadows and standing next to the door. I stood there for what felt like an age before trying the door and it was unlocked. I looked outside the door and realised they had gone and they had left me for dead. I stumbled through a maze of corridors before hearing voices. I froze as a squad of police people stopped and looked at me before I heard a gun being loaded. I dropped to the floor and held my hands on the back of my head as tears streamed down my cheeks.
“Come on look at her injuries she isn’t one of them,” one of them growled as I was lifted to my feet, “Holy shit she is light… girl what’s your name?”
I looked around, terrified as one of the police women slid her jacket onto my back and lifted me into her arms, “I’ll take her to Frost…” she said and began walking away.
I lay my head on her shoulder and closed my eyes in exhaustion; I woke in a police car with the woman and a man sitting watching me. I jumped and the woman smiled kindly as I looked down at my body and began crying, my ribs were showing and you could see all of my vertebrae in my spine along with my hip bones.
