Chapter 2
After dinner, Snow was the first one to go to bed, some girls were watching TV and Zoë was making out with Erik on the same white couch he had fallen asleep on the other day. The thought of killing her parents was terrible, she kept seeing her dad’s face and then she would cringe. She also saw her mother’s face and she thought, how could I kill the people that loved me and cared for me all my life?
Then she went over the second option and frowned, she definitely did not know Erik enough to be able to mate with him. She felt a tear run down her cheek and she flicked it away just as quickly as it had come. She cried herself to sleep and when Zoë woke her up she was still feeling under the weather.
Snow forced herself up and prepared herself for another day of school, Marina met her at the door and they greeted each other. “How was your first day?” She asked curious and smiled. “It was actually really cool and fun.” Snow said as she straightened out her sweater. She followed Marina down the stairs and Snow sat next to Jade and greeted her. Jade smiled and greeted her before stuffing toast into her mouth; Snow grabbed a bowl, filled it with milk and cereal, and then grabbed a spoon and sat down.
When they finished their breakfast, Snow went out in to the courtyard with Jade and Marina at her side, Marina waved goodbye as she joined her fellow Sirens in the water. Jade looked around nervously, “Please be my friend” She whispered and Snow nodded. “Zoë hates me so everyone hates me” she whispered. Jade vanished when Snow nodded.
Soon Cameron was by her side, Monica clinging to his arm, he grinned at her and greeted her before heading out to his locker. Monica said she would wait for him and when he left she turned abruptly towards Snow. “I don’t like you hanging out with my boyfriend! He’s mine! Not yours…so stay away from him or else!” Monica showed of some sharp fangs before turning and skipping away.
The first bell rang and Snow made a run to her class, she did not want to see Monica’s face. Soon Cameron arrived and when he sat next to her, she picked up her bag and went to another empty seat. When she peeked over she saw him staring at her with confusion before turning around.
Later when the teacher gave them the last ten minutes of class to talk, Snow looked around to see if anyone she knew was in the class. No familiar faces were lifted only Cameron whom was approaching her, she turned desperately looking for a way to escape the encounter. “Snow?” He whispered as he approached her, she looked at him and her eyes widened with fear. When she looked at him all she saw were Monica’s blood thirsty eyes. She would not risk getting into a fight this early. Taking her silence as a sign for her wanting to be alone he turned and returned to his desk.
The day managed to go by quickly and snow managed to stay away from Cameron and after school he confronted her with Monica by his side. “Snow why are you avoiding me?” Monica glared at her with threatening eyes, her fangs were showing a bit and Snow’s heartbeat spiked due to fear.
She glared at Monica and then at Cameron’s desperate eyes and made a run for it, she ran past the dorms and jumped the fence at the back of the dorms and continued into the woods that blocked the school from the world. When she couldn’t run anymore she transformed into a wolf and lay under a tree, she was exhausted and she didn’t want to ever go back to the school and see Monica.
The next night when the moon was up, she made her way through the woods farther and farther away from the school. Her stomach growled and she looked around for anything to eat and she even looked for prey which would be her last solution. She turned back to human from and took off her shoes; she walked barefoot against the somewhat warm ground. She looked up and saw a small lake and she turned back to wolf form and quickly jumped into the cool water. She drank some and then climbed a tall tree and lay on a branch. When she looked towards the direction of the school she could hardly see it. She had walked so far from it, she yawned and fell asleep. She awoke the next night and came up with a plan; she would travel during the day and at night rest since the school would probably be searching for her. She also would stay for about a month until she could decide if she should join the pack and what to do about Monica.
