Chapter One. (Caden's POV)
I slid flawlessly into the dress and heard the door open quietly.
"And what if I hadn't had my dress on?" I asked Blake curiously.
"So what if you hadn't?" he asked, wiggling his eyebrows.
"You're such a perv!" I exclaimed. "Will you zip me up?"
"How about I don't?"
"I'm not meeting your parents while in my undergarments."
"Then don't meet them at all..."
"Just zip up the dress. Please?" I asked, pulling the puppy dog face.
"Okay, okay! Just put away the face," he said, turning me around so he could zip it up. "Can't say no to anything with that damn face."
"Works every time," I smiled.
As I was about to turn around, someone opened the door and in stepped the maid.
"What is it, Ramona?" Blake asked.
"If you don't leave now, you'll be late. You know how your father is about being late," Ramona, their maid, said.
Now why would they need a maid, you ask? Well, their house is huge. They have way more rooms than necessary considering the only ones ever here are Blake and Ramona.
"Yeah. I know. We're about to leave. Thanks," he told her, politely dismissing. "Are you ready?"
I rotated to face the mirror and was shocked at what I saw. I saw a teenage girl with green eyes, reddish-brown hair, standing at about 5'9". She had on a beautiful teal dress with a gold oversized belt and gold strappy sandals.
"As ready as I'll ever be," I sighed.
"Come on then," he said while grabbing my hand.
We walked out to his huge Chevy truck. God, I loved that truck.
As he drove, he took my hand and brushed his lips across the back of it gently, making me smile slightly.
We arrived at the restaurant and he took my hand again, helping me down. We walked inside to the hostess stand, where the waitress was trying to subtly fix her hair as Blake walked towards her. Though, subtle wasn't the word I would use for that. She put on a heart stopping smile, and waited for him to speak first, only he was waiting for her to speak first. After the awkward pause, they went to speak at the same time.
"How may Iwhat?"
"Reservations underwhat?"
It truly was comical.
"How may I help you? Do you have reservations?" she asked, flustered at her moment of discord.
"Reservations under Prince? My parents should already be here," he told her in his beautiful accent.
"Yes, right this way,"told us, grabbing two more menus to bring to the table.
"Why are we at a round table?" I asked him. Why would they put at us at a round table when there's only four of us?"
"Please tell me they didn't bring him. Please tell me they left him back home where he belongs," he was whispering.
"Who? Who would they bring, Blake?"
"You'll see if I'm right."
"Oh but you are, brother," came a voice from behind us.
"Oh dear God," Blake said, gripping onto my hand like it was his lifeline, with many different emotions, but finally landing on pure rage.
"Not a normal hello, but I'll live with it. How have you been?" His 'brother' asked him.
"Better, with you back home. Why are you even here?"
I just stood there confused until finally, his father stepped in, sick of listening to the banter.
"Boys. Enough is enough. We are in public. You are family, brothers no less," his father said sternly. "And you're flustering your poor girlfriend. I'm sorry we couldn't meet under better circumstances, but nice to meet you no less," he told me, reaching out to shake my hand.
"Wish it was Thea..." his mom said under her breath.
"Move on, Karina. She's not going to happen. She's not even allowed into our home. Get over it," the man told his wife.
"I'm so lost," I said out loud, hoping someone would clear everything up.
"I see he has kept you in the dark on all the family discord?" his father asked me.
"Yeah, pretty much. Though, in America, that's not something we talk about until at least 3 months into the relationship. We're only at two. He had another month.Though meeting the parents should have been a little earlier..." I said pointedly to Blake.
