A.W. NUTTER
The night breeze taunts pitiful pleas
An insane child, grasping for sanities keys
Unlocking the chambers of an adult mind
Will the doctor believe the horrors he finds
Discovering, what I am willing to share
Searching for the truth pretending to care
Child’s voice screams, telling is forbidden
Punishments are severe, must remain hidden
Secrets buried in darkness, out of the light
Childhood traumas must be kept out of sight
Truth, about the past was never a choice
Unable to ignore my tortured child's voice
Nightmares from the past will remain sealed
Only speaking of horrors which can be revealed
Eye's closed tightly as I shed the false tears
Telling my life story, he believes I'm sincere
The internal suffering never goes away
Afraid of the dark, praying for the next day
Demons running rampant, nightmares in place
Pain and suffering, my inheritance to embrace
