The rain beats against my window Like the hurricane in my mind Along with the wind, the torrent outside A state of peace is hard to find. All the poems written, all the time spent smitten My heart is soon to exhaust And like the hail pummeling the glass My heart is covered in an icy frost. The storm grows worse, as does the pain A tear streams down my cheek Things begin to look hopeless All so desolate and bleak But after a storm comes a calm As will after the pain Will come a rainbow of hope to light my path. So that I may love again.
