The Council of the Huntresses is infamous for it's record. It's won every war it's ever fought and has single handedly destroyed and revived species of the supernatural world. It consists of thirteen members, thirteen of the most powerful beings on earth.
Some of these beings have been on Earth for centuries, since The Council's magic makes it's members immortal, though most of them are already immortal. Only one position has ever been "tossed around" to many different beings.
They go insane.
Allyson breathed in and out. In and out. In and out. Today was her first council meeting, where she would be declared Soul Huntress. She should've been excited, she had sweated blood for this job, but the butterflies still twisted her stomach.
Soul Huntresses didn't last long, but that wasn't the most nerve-wrecking part of it. She was going to be the first human on the council. Surrounded by witches, fae, vampire, wizards, druids, and whatever else was on the council.
But it wasn't as if she wasn't qualified, she had been studying soul magic since she was born.
Allyson focused on her closet. She would wear the most powerful clothes she had. She took another look.
Scratch that, the most inconspicuous powerful clothes she had.
She had an enchanted black cocktail dress, she used it in training. She had her boots that carried her soul knife. And her gloves that hid her tattoos. Not that she wasn't proud of them, she had earned them, but she didn't want to announce her former life to the council just yet.
Most importantly, she had her crossbow. It could pierce any soul, and was her most powerful weapon.
" Looking hot, as usual," A low voice murmured from behind her.
She turned around to face her blond haired, super sexy, boyfriend vampire.
" Off to face the council," She explained.
" To do what with them?" Richard asked, making the words sound dirty. He also looked up and down her body.
She just giggled. " That's none of your business."
" Is it?" He responded, hugging her.
" You'll never know," She murmured into his chest.
Besides making her a Huntress, the council was holding a vote. Vampires or werewolves. The council felt the matter it's duty to solve. Joining the vampires would be easiest, but justice demanded werewolves. It was even, but tonight, Allyson would be joining the vote.
Allyson was almost to the meeting. She had been thinking about the vote and decided vampire. She didn't want her soon to be sisters to get hurt and the feud had been going on for centuries, was there any justice? But Richard was her biggest influence. War would kill him. She couldn't let that.
Allyson stopped her car by the empty road. It was just forest on the side of the road, but the souls of the forest were urging her. She moved silently and swiftly through the forest and stopped just outside the forest. She saw Richard and another vampire.
" Is it almost over? Are you almost done playing with that bitch?" The female beside Richard asked.
" Yes darling. Allyson just needs to vote, then it's all over," He responded kissing her.
" When?" The female demanded.
" Tonight," Richard responded.
The ordeal suddenly became disgusting to watch and Allyson turned away toward her car and her legs strained and soon she was there. Rage blinded her as she shadowed into her car and started toward the meeting.
Meanwhile, her vote wavered. She wanted to see Richard dead.
