"Next."

I snapped out of my daze and turned around. The guy behind the counter waited impatiently for me to order. It saved me from answering Leon.

Clearing my throat, I said my order and looked to Leon to ask if he wanted anything but behind me he snaked his arm around my waist and laid his head on my shoulder. He told his order and quickly paid for it before I could even give the guy the money.

I pouted at him. He mischievously smirked and pecked me on the lips.

Recoiling back, I half glared at him. "You got to stop doing that." I grumbled, making Leon lift an amused eyebrow.

"Stop what?" I knew by the twitch on his lips that he knew what I was talking about.

"Kissing me!" I growled, "You can't do that when we aren't even dating."

Leon chuckled making me frown at him. Looking expectedly at him, I waited for an answer but then the guy brought our food on a tray. Shaking my head at him, I grabbed the tray and started to walk towards the booth in the back but I swear I heard him mutter under his breath 'Soon we will.'

My eyes almost popped out of my head but I kept my cool - pretending not to hear him.

I sat down and placed the tray on the table. Leon took the seat opposite me and then started to stare. I let out a tired sigh.

I really don't want to do this but...

"So..." He started but then paused when he saw me awkwardly shuffling in my seat.

Leon placed his warm hand over my cold and sweaty ones.

What? The cool and calm Jade can get nervous, okay!

Rubbing slow circles, I let his hand distract me. It gave me enough time to calm myself. Taking a deep breath, I spoke.

"You know what, it's not that important. Why don't we just forget this ever happened and continue on with our lives?!" I blurted and tried to play it off with a laugh.

Okay, so I'm trying to avoid the inevitable! Sue me!

"Jade." Leon said sternly.

I slumped in my seat and moved my eyes to the open window. I looked at anything but Leon.

"How about I ask some questions to get you started?" he asked.

I could feel his eyes on me as I stiffly nodded.

"Alright." Leon looked to be thinking as he stared above my head. He finally snapped out of it and said, "Today at lunch, you walked out on me. Why?"

Oh damn. Why did he have to ask that question? Now I have to explain to him that I don't like him hanging out with Tessa, making me seem jealous.

'That's because you are'

I quickly shook my head to get rid of such thoughts. Leon looked at me weirdly but I looked away almost shyly.

Clearing my throat, I saw in the corner of my eye Leon lean in closer. I guess my sudden timid nature must be making him curious about my answer.

"I - uh guess it's because...." I mumbled the end of the sentence so softly, that it practically came out as a breath of air.

"Come on Jade." Leon whined and leaned closer.

I loathed the way my body is reacting. I could feel my blood travelling up to my cheeks, my palms feel like water is pouring out of them and my voice just decided to disappear.

"Okay, now I have to know what you're going to say! Anything that makes you blush cutely surely has to be something!" Leon was quite giddy. He seemed like a kid as he jumped in his seat with a large grin on his face.
