My Mums Boyfriend

Maybe I was hallucinating a little, Sam couldn’t marry my mum they'd only known each other for a few months and it was just impossible.

 "You're not serious are you mum?" I asked looking a bit dazed, her and Sam both laughed at me taking my bag from my hands "yes of course we are silly, so are you up for being head bridesmaid then honey?", I snatched it back and said "I’ll think about it" as I walked up the stairs.

 She followed me up “Affy, I can sense your feeling quite negative about his please let’s talk about it” she barged into my room totally uninvited and sat on the edge of my bed. “Affy please I never get opportunities like this, and remember what I always tell you about good opportunities”, I sighed “yeah I know” then we both said “seize the chance you may never get it again” (mum always tells me to repeat her sayings with her as they will help me to have a positive mind for the future, I obviously think she’s talking rubbish).

“So Affy will you have an open mind about my great opportunity?” she looked at me as if she expected me to say yes and hug her with my arms wide open but instead I said “No, I most certainly will not accept this, I know what you say about opportunities but you always say to stand up for what you believe in and I am, so there!”.

 There was an awkward silence till mum said “so what is it that you believe in then?” I held my head up high “I believe that.......you shouldn’t get married to Sam, yep that’s what I believe in”, she crossed her arms and sighed “so why are you so against this, I’m waiting Affy?” then I squinted my eyes at her “well maybe it might have something to with the actual FACT that you are 17 YEARS OLDER than him” then she sighed and put her finger in her ears singing “La, la, la, la”, so I shouted: (although she probably didn’t hear) “Yeah you just stay in denial” I then slammed my door.

Mum was ruining everything all over again this time it was going too far mum was being very stubborn about this and I needed to sort out everything before she made the biggest mistake of her life!
