“One step at a time
Slow down you may fall”
Comes the haunting advice
It echoes through the empty hall
I don’t feel anything anymore
Neither the cold fear
Nor the heat that melts my core
As I drown in silent tears
I reach out in darkness,
Hundreds of hands I feel
They just brush against, not caress
My soul that’s left alone to heal
In the midst of the dead, I see you
A heart of gold in a million
I hope you will save me, you will stay true
And shine brighter than the sun.
But the hope is far wasted
Because you turn your back on me
Tell me, what wrong am I for tested?
Please I beg you, come set me free
I know you are human
I can see through your pretense
You seem to treat me like I’m nothing
To give yourself defense.
Why did you leave me alone?
What wonders did you gain?
Tell me through my pleading moan
What pleasures you seek in my pain?
You know you drive me crazy
Like I have never before known
That the world shouldn’t be trusted
Becomes a lesson that’s untold
Do me a favor
Please listen to my plead
I may sound very pathetic
But I want you to pay heed
Please do not flicker before me
Please be gone forever
So that I may never feel
What I guess I will feel for-ever.
