Pink Kisses {On Hold}

                Ever since the little incident that occurred between Landon and I, I haven't seen him ever since. When I work at the cash register I would always look out of the clear gas window, hoping to see his figure walk by the store and come in. But there was no luck. Even when I was a waitress on certain days, my gaze kept averting around the store and window to see if he decided to come in, but again, there was no luck.

                I'm guessing that Landon has gotten the idea that I was a creepy little girl who just wanted a man in her life. I mean, who would want to return to a café with a waitress who's clumsy and spills the customer's drinks all over her chest? This girl right here would absolutely do that from time to time. But only when she has an eye for someone she really likes.

                Yep, I’m obviously a maniac. He’s not going to come back. Sighing, I grab my notepad off of the counter and saunter over to one of the tables, not caring to look up. Even though it might seem polite, all I wanted to do was lock eyes with Landon.

                “Hi, I’m Addison and I’ll be serving you today. What would you like?” I asked, faking my kind voice. The customers rarely notice that it’s fake, they just want their coffee hot and steamed in a few minutes.

                “Do you always say that to your customers? It sounds extremely rehearsed.”

                I froze, my shoulders becoming tensed. Could it really be him? Slowly lifting my gaze from my notepad, I meet his familiar blue eyes. It took all my will not to make a loud gasp because he finally came back. I didn’t know what to do next and my palms began to sweat. Landon gives me a sweet smile that I try to return, but it turned out to be a nervous, twitchy type of smile. We stayed like this for a moment with each of us staring into the other’s eyes. It was a good thing his friend wasn’t here, or else he probably would’ve teased both of us as we made eye contact.

                Landon’s smile gradually disappeared, his gaze transferring to the menu in front of him. Smooth move, Addison. You stared at him for too long and now there’s a possible chance he might think that you’re a pervert!

                “O-Oh,” I stutter, my voice breaking uneasily. “Aren’t you the guy who I accidentally bumped in to and made the coffee spill all over me?”

                He frowns out that before looking back up at me. “Yeah, I’m really sorry about that. I wasn’t watching where I was going because I wanted to get away from those two irritating girls. They didn’t even take a hint that we weren’t interested in them!” he laughs his husky laugh, trying to enlighten the mood.

                I smile along with him, my head lowering so I could hide the shade of crimson that was crawling its way to my cheeks. The strands of hair that didn’t make it into the messy bun fell over my face and onto my cheeks. “Yeah, but it was actually my fault. I should’ve used my common sense and at least step out of your way. Sometimes I could get a little clumsy.”

                Landon outstretches his long arm, pressing two fingers to my chin so our eyes could meet. “I like clumsy girls.”

                I scoff at his explanation, with a small chuckle following. “How are clumsy girls so great? It’s like they have two left feet when they walk.”
