The look on Logan’s face! Claire could still clearly remember it. He tried to keep his expression neutral, but she had seen how much effort it took him to remain calm. The old man had been shocked at her arrival, but then again, who wouldn’t?

Claire’s plan to throw him into a loop was working.

She was purposely trying to confuse him into not knowing what she was thinking. In normal circumstances, Claire would’ve completely ignored Heath, even if he was in his comatose condition. The fact that he called another woman’s name infuriated her, but she wanted to be with him. She still wanted Heath Bishop.

And therefore, the act of visiting him in the hospital was genuine. What wasn’t genuine were the pictures taken of her with another guy. Those were simply there to make it seem as if Julia was still doing her job and to make Logan think that Claire was getting distracted by other men from Heath’s betrayal and oblivious state.

Claire had gambled that Heath’s personal cellphone would either be with Logan or Ava, and she had betted correctly. Last night, when she visited Heath, she had seen the cellphone in Logan’s hands.

He completely froze like a deer caught in headlights when she entered the room, and that gave her a chance to get a glimpse of the silver cellphone in his right hand. She could recognize that cellphone anywhere.

There was no doubt in Claire’s mind that Logan had seen those photos of her with Simon. But she also knew that two unassuming photos wouldn’t have him coming to conclusions that she was indeed, moving on from Heath. Besides, Logan knew her too well to know that she wasn’t the type of girl to jump from one guy immediately to another.

Though Claire couldn’t quite figure out exactly what Logan was thinking by causing misunderstandings with a puppet—Julia—Claire would have to eventually find out at a later time.

For now, her goal was to confuse Logan and get a little revenge for his misgivings. They were just playing a game back and forth between themselves. However, what he didn’t know was that the reigns were completely in her hands. Claire now knew the rules and she also had a good idea as to what his reactions would be.

Until Heath woke up, their game would continue. After all, Heath was the only one who could resolve everything. Who Clarissa was, and what he wanted his future with Claire to be. She already knew what she wanted with him. It was just a matter of whether he thought the same or not.

“So? Which guy’s next on our agenda?” Tori asked.

Today, she was also at Bishop Lodgings. Their plan would continue by Tori taking photos of Claire interacting with men. However, Claire didn’t know who she could use next. As she said before, she didn’t want to involve people who worked for Bishop Lodgings.

“Hello?” Tori held out the word. “No response?”

“I’m working Tori.” Claire replied bluntly. “I said you could come and stay in my office with me while I finished off any paperwork as long as you didn’t disturb me.”

With Julia gone, the workload was bigger, but Claire was used to it. There were plenty of times when Logan had to go on business trips and he had made it her responsibility to deal with his portion while he was gone. Claire hadn’t had to do that ever since Heath arrived, but she still remembered what to do.
