It was raining, so hard there was a heavy blue mist. That’s the color of water on Satria, blue. I was staring out the house window, watching the rain, waiting. Mother told me that a surprise was coming for me; i would meet a special guest, someone who would become important in my later life, so, like any four year old receiving this news, i was excited. Who was this person going to be? My shashkna, our planet's version of a fairy god mother? Or maybe an evil villain, who would threaten my world, until i defeated him, and became a hero? Of all things in the world, i was not expecting what i saw. A long black hovercraft lowered in front of my home, and my anticipation mounted. The craft was unlike any other i had ever seen. Long black, and flat, not fat round and grey or white like most were. Then, out of the craft came a long bright gold leg, and as it hit the floor my breath caught in my throat. I had never seen anyone walk before.
The woman came out of the craft, but she only walked two steps before she began to float, walking seemed to tire her out. She was tall, and hovered higher than most of us, her hair was long, and wild and a bright red, but what caught my attention almost immediately, was her eyes, red, fiery red, just like mine.
I gasped, and from then on i was no longer the little girl watching this woman approach her, i was myself, watching from above. The little girl had no idea who this woman was, but, i knew.
It was Josephine.
"Bliss, Hello Bliss, do you know who i am?" Josephine asked the little girl.
"No." she - well, i replied.
The woman chuckled, not a happy chuckle, but a bitter and ironic sound. "I didn’t expect you to."
"That's enough, Josephine." Said a stern voice behind me, my mother's voice.
"Alright, let’s cut to the chase" she said, then to the little girl that was me, "Bliss, do you know that you are different?" I the girl nodded.
“How are you different Bliss?" "Well," i began "my eyes, they're" and then as if having an epiphany, "They're just like yours!"
"Very good Bliss!" Little Bliss's face lit up like the face of any child being praised. "Bliss, i have something very important to tell you, something you have to keep a secret until the time is right."
"I will, I will! Tell me please I will!" She chuckled again, a friendlier sound this time, "I know you will."
Little bliss was getting excited, a little too excited or Josephine's taste and she was becoming impatient. "Bliss calm down right now!" little bliss was startled and Josephine tried again.
"Bliss, this is something really important really grown up, do you think you can handle it?" Little bliss nodded vigorously. "Good. Here it is, Bliss, you have powers, powers that no one else in the whole of Satria has, and that’s because, you are not a satin."
"What!?" I cried, but little bliss stared, silent. No one could hear me, and i started to realize, i couldn’t hear them either. I started to panic what were they saying, what was happening! Why couldn’t i remember any of this? And all of my confusion started to swirl into another vision, another memory? But no, as the vision cleared, i realized i wasn’t in this vision, this was something scary.
It was a dark room in the middle of the night, and there was a man standing in the middle of the room, a human man. Just then two men burst in the room and the man made a leap for the window. They grabbed him before he could get away though, and started showering punches on him, blow after blow, he started screaming and shouting
"Stop, stop please, i don’t know anything i swear!" Just then, a blow landed on his nose and blood began to gush, but the strange men didn't stop there, he received kick after kick to the stomach until the poor man began coughing up a mixture of blood and intestinal juices. The men got in one more kick that resulted in a loud crack before a woman burst in the door. It was Josephine.
The two men turned white as one, and they didn’t even try to run. The first thing Josephine did was twist each head in succession, and both the men, twice her size fell to the ground. Josephine knelt to the ground, and planted a long kiss on the strange man's lips. It was as if he was snow white and she was the prince, because his wounds healed, and he was strong enough to sit up and kiss her back. Oh and do a few other things. Soon the vision began to blur and i was alone in the dark again.
