The Taxman: A Collection of Short Stories

In the near future, the economic world has turned into turmoil. Many countries are now led by dictators or over powerful governments. Ours is no different. The government is intent on bleeding the citizens dry by charging extortionate amounts for taxes on the most outrageous of things. All the money they drain from the people flows straight into the cities, providing a luxurious haven for those wealthier enough, leaving those affected by poverty to starve in the outskirts. It's hard to make ends meet when all of your money disappears into the hands of the Taxman. But if you refuse to pay up, the cost is much worse. These short stories follow the traumatic events that occur to various civilians and how they strive to overcome the injustice forced upon them.
