“Okay Isabella it's been two months since we last weigh you, let's see if you made it to 160 pounds like you wanted,” Alex said, smiling at me.

“Alright!” I nodded nervously, getting on the scale one last time.

A few seconds later Alex looked seriously at me and said, “Isabella, I’m afraid you didn't make it to your goal weight.” 

“I didn't?” I asked crestfallen and feeling disappointed with myself.

“No, I'm afraid not,” he said shaking his head. “Just look down to check for yourself.” 

I nodded and looked down to see how far I had to go. The number on the scale read 150 pounds. Wait... if the scale said that then that means I made it...right?

“Oh my god! I made it!” I exclaimed, grabbing onto Alex's hands, pulling him into a hug. 

“Yes you did!” Alex replied back, putting his hands around me, squeezing me. “Sorry that I lied, I just wanted to mess with you a little,” Alex said, chuckling, his laughter vibrating against me. 

I dropped the smile on my face, “Not funny!” 

“It was a little.” 

“Whatever.” I rolled my eyes at him. “I finally made it to my goal weight, and it's almost time to go back to school.” 

“When do you have to go back again?” 

“This Monday.” He nodded and I bounced in excitement some more. “Anyways I'm going to call Amanda, so see you soon,” I said waving goodbye.

“Alright,” he said. 

I headed out of the gym, and went downstairs, heading towards the living room. I took a seat on the couch, and dialed Amanda’s number on my cellphone.

“Hello?” she asked.

“Hey, what’s up?” I smiled, even though she couldn't see it. 

“Nothing.” 

“Guess what?” I asked, trying to contain the joy in me. 

“What?” she asked, voice getting higher with excitement. I could practically see her bouncing up and down on her bed waiting for me to tell her.

“I now weigh 150 pounds!” I exclaimed loudly into the phone. 

“Oh my god, really!” she yelled, giving out a loud scream. I pulled the phone away from my ear, waiting for her to stop screaming. As soon as it was safe enough, I brought the phone back to my ear. 

“We have to go to the mall tomorrow!” 

“Why?” I asked confused.

“Shopping and makeover, duh.” I could practically see her rolling her eyes.

“Makeover for what?” I asked.

“You did said that I could give you a makeover after you lost weight,” she said deviously.

“When did I said that?”

“In the beginning, like eight months ago. You said I could do your hair and makeup,” she reminded me.

Crap I did said that. “Oh I guess I did...well fine, but please don't go overboard with it,” I begged her because knowing Amanda, she would. 

“I won't,” she said, sounding disappointed.

“Good. So I’ll see you tomorrow then?” 

“Kay, bye Izzy!” she exclaimed, shutting her cellphone, the line going dead. 

I closed my phone with a sigh. What have I gotten myself into?

“Isabella, Amanda's here,” my mom said as she came into my room.

“What time is it?” I grumbled out sleepily.

“Nine o'clock,” she repeated, probably checking her wristwatch. Since when did Amanda get up that early? 

“What? That’s too early,” I mumbled, going back to sleep.

“Izzy! Get up, we're going to the mall,” Amanda yelled as she skipped over to my bed, jumping half way, landing on top of me. 

“Amanda, it's too early, and who let you in here?” I asked.

“Your mom.” I gave my mom a sleepy glare to which she just smiled.

“Can't the mall wait for another hour or so?” I asked, pulling the blankets up farther, covering half of my face. 

“No, now come on Izzy! Get up or do I need to get your brother in here?” she threatened while tugging on my blankets.

“John? He's probably not even awake it. He's not a morning person, remember?” I happily retaliated.

“No, but both John and Alex are downstairs awake and ready for today,” Amanda shot back.
