Once I was in Joshes room I burst into tears and collapsed onto the bed continuing my sobs of confusion, love, hate, anger, sorrow and tiredness. I wiped the tears from my eyes and hurried to the bathroom to have my shower, it wasn’t exactly relaxing as it took about two minuets to warm up then I had to wash my hair and body as fast as I could before the water stopped or froze me to death. I dried myself quickly then brushed through my damp hair and fluffed it dry with the towel then I slumped back into the bedroom and crawled into the bed keeping as close to the left side as possible. I wasn’t feeling very hungry after what had happened so I decided to go straight to sleep, that was the good thing about me I could almost go to sleep on command and it was a very good thing to have as I could escape reality quickly and quietly without any waiting. I put my head on the pillow and fell straight into a light sleep.
We were now in Spain in the middle of one of the sunniest days I had ever seen in Spain in all the time I have walked this planet but even though we did get called over by a police officer (that we dealt with) because he thought we were up to no good walking round on a boiling hot day like it was completely covered in dark black and grey clothes and our long shading cloaks. The large town was packed to bursting point, full of locals and holiday travellers swarming around hypnotised by everything they saw. The young couples of happy content humans, enjoying the sun, the warming heat, the Spanish culture, enjoying all this wonderful country had to offer whilst they were with the one they loved most dearly. I longed for Alicia to be back in my arms, to feel her soft skin to hear her musical voice and to smell her delicate yet mature beautiful scent that made me love her even more than I thought possible.
“This way.” Demetri directed and I followed almost trance like as the four of us, me, Demetri, Jane and Megan made our way down a crowded street, it was a struggle to get through with out making to much contact with all the humans and a couple of them attempted to pull my hood down so I sped up into a fast human pace pushing through ignoring the grunts and annoyed comments about unruly teenagers. If only they knew my real age.
“How far now?” Jane asked as Demetri flitted down a dark empty ally and relaxed into the shadows.
“Not far it’s around here somewhere this place is stronger than the last by a fraction and I think…” He trailed off and turned to look at a rusty door that was just about to fall off its hinges. He pushed it open and it fell to the floor with a thud sending up dust in a cloud blurring our view of the inside of the building slightly. “Here we are.” He whispered and flitted inside quicker than I could blink, that was one thing about Demetri he could set off quicker than I or anyone else in the guard and sometimes it really did annoy me. We followed and found Demetri standing on the second floor landing with his arms crossed leaning against the wall. “I’m not one for interrogating.” He said matter of factly and nodded at the door to the side of him, “Don’t worry I’ll stand guard.” He said saluting me, Jane and Megan as we entered the room while he stayed outside.
A vampire was chained to the wall with big metal cuffs that would have taken a lot of strength to break and not only was he chained but he had bite marks and fractures all over him where he had been recently tortured. His eyes were inky black and his he lolled to the side as he eyed us with an uncaring gaze. “Just kill me and stop staring.” He breathed and I crouched down in front of him and asked “Who did this too you?”
“Like I’m going to tell you, Volturi.” He spat and then screamed out in pain as Jane used her gift on him making him think he was burning. He withered uselessly in the chains as Jane continued to torture him, “Jane.” I said softly and she stopped leaving the man gasping to the floor, I took a long breath inhaling the scent of the man that was chained up before me. It was familiar and as soon as I placed it I grabbed him by the neck and squeezed so hard small fracture lines ran up the sides of his jaw.
“You took her where did you take her, why did you take her you filthy bastard, tell me.” I shouted in his face and he just shook his head lamely.
