I turned up on Ally's doorstep later that day, hoping she'd be home from the hospital by now, and secretly hoping she was alone.
The brown door in front of me slowly opened, revealing a tired, pale Ally.
"Hey Demi," She managed to smile at my presence.
"Hey kid," I greeted, "how are you feeling?"
"A little sore. Come on in."
I walked in and followed her onto the couch, resting my arm loosely on her warm waist.
"So what happened? What started it?" I demanded eagerly.
"Nothing started it, I was walking to school with Mia, and he just beat me up. I didn't do a thing," She answered.
"The bitch isn't even getting arrested."
Ally moved closer to me, resting her head on my shoulder. I moved my hand from her waist and began playing with her soft hair.
"So what happened at the hospital?"
"I broke my left wrist, and got a lot of stitches. That was pretty much it," Ally said.
"And what did your parents say?"
"They're pissed. I mean they were angry at him when he dumped me, but this time it's different."
She turned her head upwards, facing me, and locked our lips together, only to be interrupted by a baby's cry from upstairs.
"Oh, that's the twins upstairs," Ally said, standing up.
"Wait," I shot up from the couch, "I'll get them. What room are they in?"
"The one right across from the top of the stairs. Thanks Demi."
I trailed up the wooden staircase and opened the door, and found two cheerful baby boys standing in their cribs.
"Hiii," I sang. "Do you want to go see Ally?"
Both of them seemed to react to the name, and I lifted them out of their cribs and walked them downstairs.
"Ally you have the cutest brothers ever," I gushed.
She giggled as I set them both in her lap.
"I know. You should see my sister Jordan one day."
"What are their names?" I asked, playing with their tiny fingers as they happily laughed.
"This one with blue eyes is Michael. And the other with brown eyes is Gavin."
I picked up Gavin and looked at his brown eyes. "He's got the exact same eyes as you Ally."
After a while of playing with her brothers, we left them in their playpen as we watched a bit of the soccer game.
"Alright, I better go," I suggested, standing up.
"I'll walk you out," She added, "thanks for coming."
I gave her a smile and quickly kissed both of her brothers, then followed her to the door.
"You're coming to school tomorrow right?"
"I guess so," She sighed nervously.
"I'll pick you up and drive you," I offered. "That ass isn't going anywhere near you from now on."
"Demi, you'd never be able to beat him up," Ally laughed.
"Maybe not me. I've got about 10 million Lovatics that would though. And a few security guards."
Ally pulled me into a hug, leaving a kiss on the side of my cheek.
"I'll see you tomorrow Demi."
I walked out with a laugh, giving her a final wave before she closed the door.
