Anna's P.O.V:
I really hate fainting. It makes me seem so weak, and I hate feeling weak. But I guess it's justified in this situation. When the dragon touched me and a blinding light flashed, it felt like a whole new world opened up before me. I felt strangely different, but I couldn't tell how.
'I can show you,' his voice came. I was curious so I nodded. An image of myself showed up in my mind. At the initial once-over, I didn't look any different, except for the red hair. Then I looked again, and gasped. A large, and beautiful, tattoo stretched from my index finger to my shoulder and then down my back, stopping on my left buttocks. It was amazing; a deep black color with dark blue shading, loops and twirls and spirals flowed outward from an exact replica of the dragon before me. Then, I realized I was naked.
Quickly trying to cover myself up, I heard him laughing in my head. 'You have no reason to be worried of me seeing your body. I feel no differently about you now, then when you had your clothing on you. Do not hide from me as I do not hide my body from you. You should feel comfortable around me, and do not worry, the elf is not in the vicinity and if he was I would have shielded your body from him. I can tell that he has feelings for you but he has no right to look upon you without your permission.' He had guessed why I was truly worried about my nudity before I could even tell him.
'I can read your thoughts, just as you can read mine, any time you would like. Go ahead and try it.'
I had never tried reading someone else's thoughts before, so I was clueless as to what it would be like. With my mind I envisioned a large invisible hand reaching towards his mighty head and gently seeping through it and tapping, as if on a door, to be let in. It was amazing; it was as if a door opened up for me and I was suddenly overwhelmed by the strange thoughts and feelings of this dragon. He didn't have any of the petty worries that humans have; his only worry was that if I rejected and left him he would be alone again. Being lonely myself, I could relate very well to him and I decided I would stick with him unless circumstantial events happened that might tear us apart.
'We should get to know each other better if we are going to be traveling together. I am Annalise McCormack. What is your name?'
'I do not have one.'
'Why not?'
'I have never had need of one before as a wild dragon does not have one, but if you would like to call me something other than 'that dragon,' then with all means please, give me a name.'
'How do you like Aubru?' he snorted in disdain. 'Okay...not Aubru. What about Ronell? No, that doesn't seem right. Demarcus?' he shook his head wildly.
'That is no name for a dragon as might as I.' Wow, he has a really big ego. 'I heard that little one.' I let out a nervous laugh. Moving on, I thought hard about strong names that would work for a dragon.
'Hmm... what about Kirin?'
'It sounds nice. Let's try it out.'
'Do you think there are any clothes lying about for me Ki? Or maybe even Rin?!'
'I like the way Rin sounds. And I sent the elf to fetch clothes for you at your village, he should be arriving any- and here he is.'
Rin jumped in front of me to cover my body the second before Dmitri walked back into the clearing. And let me say this, it is unnerving when a dragon almost as tall as the redwood trees in the Bolin Wood surrounding my home- I mean my old home. It is going to take some getting used to the fact that I will most likely never return home.
"Dmitri, did you bring me any clothes?"
'Nah, all I could find was this very short cloak!"
"W-what? You couldn't find any clothes in m- I mean in the village?"
Rin decided to step in and growled at Dmitri.
"What is it Kirin?"
'The elf is lying to you; he has a bundle of clothing in his hands' Rin huffed, and a small black plume of smoke escaped his nostrils.
'Can you maybe shield me with your tail or claw; I'll go and grab it from him?'
His tail suddenly came and wrapped around me, shielding any necessary parts from Dmitri's view. The feel of the scales wrapped around my naked flesh brought on an odd sensation with it. The scaled hide was rough, yet smooth at the same time, similar to a snake's scales but thicker and tougher, more durable. Each scale on his tail was almost as wide as the palm of my hand, and a mysterious shade of black darker but more pure than the shadows of the night. Rin got up so that I could walk around him. When Dmitri came into view and I saw the package in his hands, I let out a frustrated growl and stomped towards him.
