The Ballet

Taylor stepped towards the door as Ursula put her scrawny arm around Taylor's shoulders, forcing her towards the regal building.

"First I'm going to introduce you to the other girls, and then we'll get you ready."

Taylor nodded, twisting her red ponytail around her finger nervously.

Inside was a large entrance hall, the cream tiled floor complimented the soft rose coloured wallpaper. In the middle of the hall was a wide wooden staircase, the light wood was varnished and polished so much that Taylor could almost see her reflection in it. There were pots of geraniums on tall stands placed in various areas around the hall way and oil paintings of old, snarling men and plump, blushing women at the top of the staircase. Ursula guided Taylor to a room to the right of the staircase and pushed her gently inside.

Two girls were sitting on the sofa's, each with a woman around the same age as Ursula, although both looked older, trying to coax them into talking to each other.

"This" Ursula pointed toward the tall girl on the sofa in the far left of the room "Is Sarah."

Sarah was slender bodied, with long legs and soft brown hair. She had a weasel like face, long and pointed with a straight nose. Her eyes were a dull brown lined with thick straight eyelashes. She smiled slightly at Taylor and smirked as she noticed Taylor's fiery red hair, spaghetti covered T-shirt and yoga pants. Taylor wasn't one to care what other's thought of her so she mimicked Sophie's smirk and turned to the other girl.

"Ah, this is" Ursula began but Taylor interrupted her,

"Polly?"

The girl nodded happily, she was young 7 or 8 at the most, she her blonde curls framed her soft facial features, her rosy cheeks and emerald green eyes made you want to stare at her, she really was just like a doll, so tiny, so bright and cheery, but it was her smile that made her beautiful, she had perfect teeth, white and straight, but not fake like Ursula's, there was genuine happiness behind her smile.

"Well, hi I guess?" Taylor said not too enthusiastically. Sarah snorted with laughter, Taylor glared at her.

"What's so funny then, do tell?"

Sarah pursed her thin lips and shook her head waving her hand gesturing for Taylor to continue.

"No really Sarah, you look like you have something really important to say."

Sarah stood up from her seat, wow she really was tall, and she stepped towards Taylor and glared into her eyes.

"My parents have trained me so hard for this, I have worked since I was four, this is my moment and you will not screw it up for me!" She yelled the last part of the sentence and tried to walk backwards towards her seat but tripped over the coffee table and landed on the floor. Taylor stifled a laugh

"Looks like I won't need to." She winked at Sophie and blew her a kiss sarcastically before turning back to Polly.

"Hide and seek?"
