Chapter 14

Sakura and I both yawned. We were bored out of our wits, out here just watching the construction men build their bridge.

"You two ladies sure seem bored with just the two of you." Tazuna said. We both looked over to him, "Where's that short blond one and that other one with black hair?"

"Oh. Well both of them are training right now," I said.

"How you two don't have to?" he asked.

"Kakashi sensai asked me to protect you, since I'm so superior at tree climbing?" Sakura said with a triumphant grin.

"Ummm..... Actually Sakura, Kakashi sensai I was the superior one and you were the second best out of the four of us."

"Hmp. Whatever." she said and crossed her arms.

"Really?" Tazuna asked, which caused us both to be angry at him.

"Grrr......" but we were then cut of by a man calling for Tazuna.

"Hey Tazuna!" a man said.

"Ya. What is it Giichi?"

"I've been thinking a lot lately and....." the man Giichi started to say, "Can I stop working on the bridge?"

"Why is that? This is so sudden! Not you too!" Tazuna yelled.

"Tazuna, we've been close for a long time now and I want to help you, but if we continue this, then Gatou will notice us sooner or later. Then if you get killed, what's the point?" Giich said, "Why don't we just quit now. You know, building the bridge."

Sakura and I remained silent between their exchange. I stayed quiet because I was just shocked that he would just give up so easily and in a cowardly way, but I think Sakura just stayed queit because she wasn't sure what to say.

"I can't do that!" Tazuna said and I smile at his courage, "This bridge......it's our bridge. This is the bridge taht we started building together in hopes that it would bring resouces into our very poor country."

"But if we lose our lifes......!" Giichi said.

"It's noon already, so let's stop for the day." Tazuna said, "........and Giichi........you don't have to come tomorrow."

~Later~

Sakura and I were walking down a street, helping Tazuna gather some groceries, when all of the sudden we see a man with a 'Will take any job' sign around him start running. When the heard a person yell! 'Wait!! Theif!!'

'Wow. What's up with this village' I thought to myslef.

"Here we are," Tazuna said. I looked at the little market with barely any food stocked inside of it and outside of the market was a little boy with his head in between his legs. He's only a child and he's out on the streets all alone. It makes me appreciate the money my family has.

"Welcome," someone said as we entered.

When we entered the store Sakura said, "There's hardly any food to buy here," Sakura said quietly.

As Sakura and I were looking for some edible groceries I felt a hand touch my butt and whoever did was either trying to slip me or take my money, but I don't really care which because nobody touches my butt or any of my lady parts. I turned around quickly and punched the guys staight in the face.

"Perv!" Sakura and I bothe yelled at the same time, so I guess he did the same thing to Sakura too.

"No I was just- " he tried to explain, but was cut off by Sakura's kick.

The three of us left the market and started walking on the street again.

"You two supreised me back there in the market," he said.

"Haha, Thanks." I said and Sakura thanked him also.

All of the sudden I feel something touch my butt again. Seriously? Twice in the same day? I turned around and was about to kick the guy where the sun don't shine, but when I turned it was a small kid with his hand out.

"Is there anything you can give me pretty lady?" he said. Awe! What a cute little boy! I felt bad for him because he has to spend his chidlhood poor and from what I could tell from his clothes, he probably lives on the streets.

"Sure." I said with a warm and polite smile. I took out some of the food I bought for myslef and gave it to him because he need ps it more than I do and I also gave him some money. He looked happy by the time I gave him his things.

"Thanks you nice lady!" he said and tooke off. Awe! What can I say? I have a spoft spot for kids.

I ran up to Tazuna and Sakura and they bothe looked at me weird.

"Where were you Melissa?" Sakura asked.

"Oh, nowhere. I was just talking to a little boy and I gave him some of my supplies. That's all." I said with another smile.
