Chapter 9.

"You've got to be kidding me" I groaned as I scrambled out of bed to answer the furious knocking on the door

"Can you people not read a clock?" I growled loudly, pulling on my long cardigan to cover my boxers and bra "It's 6 fucking 30 am, what kinds of a nut job comes knocking on peoples door this early in the morning!"

I swung open the door and groaned again

"Hello Quinn" said my mum flatly

My dad only nodded

"What?" I spat, leaning against the door frame and running my fingers through my messy hair

"That is no way to speak to your parents" muttered my dad, turning his nose up

"Then let me try again" I cleared my throat, turned up my nose and in a very posh accent said "Mother, Father what the fuck are you doing here uninvited at 6:30 in the morning, it is quite rude"

There faces turned red

"I thought we taught you better than that" sniffed my mother

"Ha!" I smiled "You taught me jack shit, now why are you here?"

"We have a proposition for you" smiled Dad holding up a yellow envelope "Is he home?"

"If by he you mean Reece then no, he got up early to go to the studio"

"Please don't use that language in front of us" sighed my mother pushing past me into the apartment

"What language?" I asked looking at them both and they waltzed in uninvited "Studio?"

"Yes that" she sighed sitting down timidly like my lounge had cooties "Get your mother something to drink would you?"

"How about instead I hear out your stupid yellow envelope and then you get out?" I growled pulling my cardigan around me tighter

"Please don't tell me you sleep like that, next to him" muttered dad, pulling papers out of the envelope and laying them on the coffee table

"What is all of this?" I whispered kneeling down on the other side of the table opposite them

"This" motioned dad "Is the terms and conditions of deliverance"

"Deliverance of what?"

"A new flat, new car, constant allowance and one thing of your choice" smiled mum

I frowned "Why are you doing this?"

"Because we love you" dad pushed a piece of paper towards me and placed a pen in my hand "Now all you have to do is sign"

I put the pen down slowly as I read over the Contract

'Said receiver -Quinn Kali- will receive all above indications for the forfeit of marriage to fiancé and eviction of male from home'

"No" I said pushing the pen and paper away from me "No"

"Quinn-" sighed mum

"No!" I screamed "Your asking me to be under your control and contract, Im not giving up Reece!"

"It doesn't say-" started dad

"I'm a lawyers daughter, I know how to decode your words dad" I growled

"Sweetheart, you're young you don't want to be in this relationship any more than we want you there"

"I do want this relationship old man, more than I want any relationship with my parents who are so manipulative they'll use a contract and money to get me to do what they want" I stood and opened the door "Out!"

Mum and dad looked at each other sadly but obliged and walked out slowly

"Happy birthday Quinn" said Dad turning around with his arm over mum "You grew up well"

I slammed the door in his face

Reece came home to find me hunched over the papers of Dads contract still in my pj's

"What's up babe?" he asked dropping his bag and sitting next to me

"Parents" I sighed flicking over page 50 of 68

"What about them?" he asked picking up page one and reading it over

"They come over at 6 this morning and give me this contract, it promises money, new apartment, new car, anything I want" I groaned putting down the pages and curling up in his side

"Sounds good" he whispered

"They only have one catch?"

"What's that?"

"I give you up, cancel the marriage, evict you from living with me and basically never see you again"

He was quiet for a moment then "Ouch"

"Yeah"

"Your parents hate me that much?"

"They hate me, They hate you, together were just hated even more"

"So I can't count for their blessing on our wedding day?"

"Nope"

"Too bad, I've always wanted to ask the fathers permission to marry my girl" he kissed my lips gently "Even if he said no I'd marry you, I just like asking questions"

I laughed "Silly boy"

"A silly boy who loves you"

"Love you too"

He smiled "So how about we get rid of this contract and watch a movie"

"My pick?"

"Of course"

I smiled and kissed him again "You’re the best"

"I know"

I hit him instead of kissed him this time
