Foster Brother?

~Allie's P.O.V.

Walking back to my room, I think about all that had happened. I now have an extremely cute "foster brother", and a "foster sister" who has an attitude. I want to know why I wasn't informed about all this. I mean really. I'm a part of this family too.

I sit down at my computer, turning it on. I logged onto my facebook, checking all the "news feed" rolling my eyes at a few of the status updates. Some people were such drama queens *cough cough* Leslie *cough*.

Leslie Richie. Ha. Her last name fits her perfectly. Leslie used to be my best friend, key word, USED. All throughout elementary and middle school we were inseparable. Now, not so much. But that's a different story. She has long blond hair and big brown eyes. She's got long legs and has to only weigh ninety five pounds even though she's 5'8". She's one of the populars. Been that way since she walked through the doors her first day as freshman. Now, as a Senior, girls wish they were her, guys wish they could have her. She's currently dating Riley Turn, my ex. Also another story.

I log off facebook and walk downstairs when I hear the garage door open.

My mom walks in the door, purse in hand. "Hi Mom." I say. I study her features. Her blond hair and freckles, I had inherited. Her big, blue eyes and her 5'4" height. "Why didn't you tell me we were taking up foster kids?" I ask, not giving her time to say hi back.

"We knew you would disagree without giving us time to explain, so we didn't tell you." She replies with a shrug.

"So? I'm a part of the family! I should have an input on what happens around here!" I yell, angry.

"We don't HAVE to let you help decide anything. Your father and I decided this is what God wants for us right now."

"Whatever." I shake my head. I go and sit down in the living room, turning on the TV.

About an hour later, I hear a woman's voice call for dinner. I set down my shirt that I was putting in a drawer and make my way down the stairs. A woman that looked a lot like that Allie girl stood at the bottom of the stairs. She smiles when she sees me and says, "You must be Jay. I'm Sally. Welcome to our home."

I nod and walk past her into the dining room. Two extra chairs have been placed at each end and I pick one, sitting down. Alex sits down next to me and Allie across from me. A girl I could only assume was her sister plops down next to her. I study her for a moment. She takes after her Dad. Brown hair, tan skin, perfect teeth. She has blue eyes like her mother. She's really was pretty too...but not as pretty as Allie. Ugh, what am I thinking? I shake my head, looking away, not wanting to be caught staring.

"Let us pray." Ben said, bowing his head. "Lord, thank you for all the gifts you have given us. Thank you for Alex and Jay and how they have become a part of our family. Thank you for this food and bless it to our bodies. Amen." Give me a break. Trying' to suck up.

Everyone said amen and starts eating.

"So, Jay, you're seventeen?" Allie asked, wiping her mouth with a napkin.

"Yes."

She nods. "And Alex you're Jessy's age, fifteen?" She asked facing A.

"Yes." She replies, her mouth full of mac 'n' cheese.

There wasn't much conversation after that. It was the most awkward dinner EVER. People look around at each other. It was like the first day of middle school. When everyone was done, dishes were collected and Ben says, "I would think you guys would have some more unpacking to do. Jess, why don't you help Alex. Jay would you like help?"

"No. I can do it myself." I tell him.

"You sure?"

I nod. I need some time. These people are overly nice.

That was THE most awkward dinner ever. I tried to be nice and make conversation but noooo it didn't turn out too well. So right now, Alex and Jessy are "bonding" or a.k.a. unpacking Alex's clothes. I wonder if I should go to Jay's to room and ask him if he wants any help. That would be nice thing to do. Even though it would be really awkward. I decide that I should just be the Christ-like person and go help him. I hop off my bed, placing my laptop back on my desk before leaving my room.
