My daughter unconsciously nuzzled into my shoulder. It was a beautiful sunny day and everyone was enjoying it. We were having a family reunion. All of us were here at the old mansion with our families. Everyone had found their mates sometime after my wedding and they had all ended up happy. Around that same time everyone started leaving to buy their own houses the only people who stayed were Margaret and Adam. They thought that someone still might want her dead for her father’s death. The liberty sisters had even found their mates (a rare occurrence) and they had told us how old they were (they are 37 now). Children were running around the field laughing and giggling or they were curled up in their parent’s arms. Even Barrett, Sari, and Luke (the vampires) were enjoying the sun thanks to ancient sunlight rings.

Margaret’s daughter (Kacie) was a werewolf doppelganger which meant that she was the werewolf version of a doppelganger. She was actually the most exotic combination. Everyone else had pure children, maybe their powers were a little weaker but they were still considered pure. Even my daughters were considered pure ultimate shifters even if they hadn’t shifted yet.

Lucia was lying in my arms while Regan lay in her dads. They had both just settled down for their nap. My four year old twins were beautiful. Lucia looked just like me except for her eyes and Regan was the complete opposite. Regan was sound asleep on Chase’s shoulder. He smiled over at me and I smiled back.

“These two are going to be heartbreakers when they’re older,” he whispered.

For the past few years he had been almost reading my thoughts most of the time. He had also helped me with council business. Ever since my brother had handed over the job to me I had had problems to deal with. No one believed that we would actually have problems since our species were almost all extinct but we still had to help with council decisions that required our input. From our original family 13 of us were on the council. That brought the councils numbers up to 18 different representatives. Our representatives were Valentina (Valkyrie), Barrett (Vampire), Kai (Cat sith), Fawn (Mermaid), Zavier (elf), Sebastian (were creature), Quinn (Jinn), Mackenzie (Fallen Angel), Adam (Doppelganger), Cale (Dragon), Ike (elemental), Pam (fairy), and of course my for the shape shifters. Jamie had predicted that in 100 years or so our species would be back to the way they should have been.

I looked across the field and saw Sari and Barrett spinning while holding Luke. Luke was just one but everyone loved him already. Luke was the youngest right now although most of us were pregnant again. Well I knew Sari and I were for certain. I was hoping for a few more daughters before I had a son.

Lucia woke up and looked around a content little smile on her face. She looked around and smiled at Chase. Then she flashed her adorable dimples at me. “Mommy can I have desert now?”

I smiled down at her. She was part of my perfect life. She was part of my perfect future. I knew now that nothing was going to change, nothing was going to happen to us, and nothing would ever tear us apart. We were going to have a wonderful life and this was just the beginning.

So of course I answered her question with a, “Sure darling, but when your sister wakes up.” Lucia and Chase’s laughter would follow me through the rest of my life. My life, my eternity, was going to be perfect, as long as I was with them.
