I pulled my miss me jeans over my legs and put on my favorite belt it has the very first belt buckle I won on it then I pulled my favorite rodeo shirt around me and buttoned it up then I put my hat on over my dark hair and taking the spurs off of my square toed boots I pulled them mover my feet.

Apparently we're going on a trail ride today so I decided to grab my western saddle. No way am I Ellie Walker using and English saddle for a trail ride. I threw it in the back and hopped into the passenger seat and buckled in.

When we pulled up we were immediately greeted by Jason. While Elliot introduced him and my mom I went to the back of the pickup and grabbed my saddle. Then I walked over to them. "Hey Ellie need any help?" He offered smiling. "Does it look like I need help Sparky?" I replied sarcastically. "Ellie!" My mom exclaimed. I forced a smile. "I meant no thanks it's my barrel racing saddle it's really light." I glared at my mom.

He laughed. "Ok then let's get started."

We walked into the stable. "Ok Ellie you'll be riding Rebel she's one of our best horses." I smiled a real smile. "I like her name my barrel horses name is double trouble." He smiled too. "Yes Well you two should get along really well you've got a lot in common." He moved onto the next stall. "Here Elliot you'll be riding Axel."

A sudden pain shot through me. "Ellie are you okay?" Jason asked. "You look like your mom just died or something." I shook my head. "I'm fine I just I'll just uh go saddle rebel."

Truth is Axel was my old barrel horse he died in an accident that was my fault I lived him and I thought I'd never ride again until one day I won double trouble in a raffle she was beat up and her mane was messed up she'd kick and bite and my dad hated her but I was drawn to her so I entered my name and I actually won!

And I proved my dad wrong too. He never doubted me again after that.

I made sure the girth was nice and tight and I swung my leg over the saddle and got settled in. Right about when Elliot and Jason rode out. "This is so cool!" Elliot exclaimed. I smiled. "Yeah bud your girth is nice and tight right." He smiled. "Yeah Jason let me saddle up Axel all by myself!" I turned to Jason.

"You did what?!" "Chillax he'll be fine it's just a short ride." "Chillax!" I mimmicked. "He's never saddled a horse before!" I practically yelled. "Could we just go you guys!" Said a frustrated Elliot. Pissed off I kicked rebel into a lope and rode ahead.

A while after I finally slowed down they caught up to me. We ride in silence for a while. "Well?" I demanded. "Well what?" Jason looked at me confused. "Well aren't you his instructor teach him something!" I said. "It's horseback riding it's riding on the back of a horse it's pretty simple." "No it isn't there's so much more to it than just riding!" "You know you must think your hot stuff turning a few barrels with a fast time oh big woopdey doo it can't be that hard!" "Uh guys." Elliot said. "Be quiet Elliot!" I snapped. "But guys." He said nervously and I looked back and his saddle had slipped right off the back of his horse.

"Ugh." He groaned from the ground. I jumped off my horse and glared at Jason as I went to help him.
