"Hey Claire?" An annoying voice whispered to me.
"mmmm," Was my oh so intelegent response.
"Wake up!" The next thing i new I was freezing and dripping wet. When I had finaly opened my eyes my brother was runing away with a bucket in his hand. He was so going to get it for doing that to me. I glanced at my clock and it read 6:45. Great its time to take a shower and get ready for another day. After taking my shower i decided on throwing my hair up into a high pony tale, and putting on a baby blue v-neck with a pair of blue skinny jeans. I was currently sifting through my shoes in an attempt to decide on a pair when Jake dared to show his face in my room again.
"Hey little sis, mom made breakfast so you should eat some before we leave." He was out of my room before I could give him a response. Which showed that he knew he wasn't on my good list. I quickly decided on some white flats, and ran down the stairs to the kitchen. "Goodmorning mother," I said as I took my place at the kitchen counter seats.
"Claire, how many times do I have to tell you not to call me mother?" She asked in a humored tone.
"Oh only about a hundred more times," I smirked lightly at her before grabbing a waffle she had made. Not wanting to give her a chance to ask me about my plans for tonight, I quickly shoveled the waffle into my mouth. It is Friday so she will be expecting me to have some major party to go to. Thats the thing about my mom, she knows I like to go o ut and have fun, and she lets me. As long as I keep my grades up and don'ot get pregnant all is good. When I had finally finished chewing I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and scurried out to Jake's car. Only to find him not seated in it.
All if a sudden my phone started ringing,"The devil is calling you." I smiled at the ringtone I had picked out for my brother. "Hello brother dearest, where might you be?"
"Hey Claire Bear you are going to need to get a different ride to school I have to pick up a gir.... a friend."
In my head I was thinking 'oh clever save' cue eye roll, but to him I siad,"Whatever Jake I guess O'll see you later." Hanging up th phone I hoped out of the truck and started walking towards school.
"Hey knew girl why are you walking to school?" I knew it was Mark but I had decided to ignore him.
"Claire I am talking to you, and I know you can hear me. Do you need a ride?"
I really did need a ride, and what harm could it really do? "Actually yes I do Mark thank you for offering." I hopped into his car and heard him mumble something that sounded an awful like,'wasn't offering just asking a question,' but I couldn't be quite sure.
"So why were you walking to school?"
"Oh well because my brother had to pick up some girl, and found her more important than I am."
Really that was his big reply? I wish I had just asked Sarah for a ride.
"Claires can I see your notebook?" We had just pulled into the school parking lot, and crap! I forgot the white notebook on my dresser. Now what is supposed to entertain me during another boring day of 'getting to know yous'.
"Mark did you just call me Claires? You know its just Claire right? No s at the end."
"Oh I know that, but Claires is your new nickname. Now the notebook please." Without actually waiting for me to hand it to him, he grabbed a notebook out of my bag and scribbled something onto it. "There is my number in case you ever need a ride again." He shot me a huge grin and then stepped out of his car while gesturing for me to do the same.
I arrived at my locker completely confused at what had just happened. I looked down at his number and all I could think was, 'is he serious?' Why would i call him if i needed help? That doesn't even make any sense.
"Hey Claire would you like to come spend the night at my place tonight?" Finally my new friend Sarah had shown up.
"Are you sure Sarah? I mean we just met and for all you know I could be a murder." I attempted to say this in a very omunious tone, but I could tell it didn't come out correctly.
"Obviously I am sure or I wouldn't be inviting you over. Plus who is to say I am not hoping you'll murder someone for me?" She raised her eyebrows and did her best to keep a straight face, b ut neither of us could take it and we started laughing hysterically.
"Sure Sarah I would love to go over to your house."
