Then, introduce a challenge in the form of a message or a suggestion that the hero needs to leave his life behind to take on his quest.
Example: Gandalf coming to tell Frodo that he needs to leave the Shire; Harry receiving his letter from Hogwarts; Katniss having to volunteer as tribute to save Primm.
