I watched Aubrey run out of the Great Hall and I thought about running after her. Nah, she probably needs time alone. I looked around until I saw Snivellus looking out the door.
“What was that?” James said just realizing his sister left.
I shrugged and took a bite of my apple. McGonagall rushed in looking worried. She walked towards us and said, “I need to talk to you three in my office.” Uh oh. Are we in trouble? That wouldn't make sense though. Evans never does anything.
James and Lily got up first and I slowly got up after. We followed McGonagall to her office and she closed the door. She turned to us and looked at James sadly. “Aubrey...” She started, “Aubrey's been petrified. Not by a spell, but something else...”
“Surely she can be cured?” James asked? “Mr. Potter, we're trying our best. It might be atleast a month before she's well and healthy
“Can't you go any faster!?!?!” James yelled. He didn't mean to yell at McGonagall. I put my hand on his shoulder and said, “James, mate, it's okay. She'll be better.” Evans looked like she was about to cry and so did James. “You can go see your sister in the Hosipital Wing” McGonagall said quietly.
James nodded his head and the three of us turned to go see Aubrey. “I shouldn't have brought up Beauxbatons! This is all my fault!” Lily sobbed. I looked at her and James said, “No it's not Lily, Calm down.”
“How the hell would Aubrey manage to get herself petrified though?” I asked curiously. James sent me a death glare and I went silent. We walked to the hospital wing in silence.
When we got there Evans bursted into tears and James was comforting her some how. “She looks horrified” James commented. “She was crying... and her wand was out. It's still lit” Lily said and sobbed some more.
I couldn't even look at her.
Lily looked at me and then turned to James and said, “I think we should go now. Let's go talk to Sir Nick.” He nodded his head and Lily dragged him out of the room. I really ought to thank her later. “Hey Aubrey” I said talking to her like she could hear me.
I shook my head and left.
I couldn't even talk to her when she was petrified. How am I going to talk to her when she's normal? “Are you okay?” Lily asked. I nodded my head and walked to the dorms.
Running. That seems to be the only thing I can do. Run. Run from the thing that wants to murder me specifically. “Get away from me!” I yelled and continued running.
“Now why would I do that?” The high voice of Bellatrix Black taunted. Scared. Unable to hide. I turned around and shot a stream of curses at her through my wand. “Why you little” she screamed and ran after me even faster.
“I know your secret” I yelled behind me and continued running. “And I know yours” She replied. Dammit.
“Avada Kedavra!” Bellatrix yelled and the spell was too fast for me to dodge.
I watched Sirius' retreating figure and turned to James. “Do you think he's okay?” I asked and he looked at me confused. “It's obvious he likes her. Haven't you noticed?” I asked. He shook his head. “We should go to class. Slughorn hates when people are late especially prefects” I said and dragged him off to class.
We walked in five minutes before it was time for class. “Evans” Severus called walking up to us. Dang it. “What do you want?” James snapped.
“Where is the other Potter?” he asked. I looked at him and said, “She's in the hospital wing.” Worry flashed in his eyes, but it was quickly covered up with his normal cold eyes.
“Why?” he asked. James glared at Sev and snapped, “Why do you care?”
“Severus likes Aubrey” I said realizing it. Sev blushed and I smirked. James wasn't too happy about this. “My sister was petrified” he said and sat down in the furthest corner of the room. I looked at Sev and then went to go sit by James.
Slughorn coughed and the room went silent.
He did roll, but stopped when he got to Sirius' name. I raised my hand and said, “He's ill.” I hated lying and James looked at me weirdly. Slughorn nodded his head and went on. He skipped over Aubrey's name already knowing what happened.
A rumor had gotten out that she died. Well that was until someone ran into the room saying she was petrified. “Calm down class. Professor Dumbledore will speak more about it during dinner” Slughorn said trying to calm his frantic class.
