Sparks Fly

Just as promised! Wednesday's a public holiday, so I decided to do another chapter on that day for you all :D Btw, have you guys checked Skye's new story - Enchanting? No? WHAT?! GO READ IT NOW! Ok, maybe not now... after you read this chapter tho! Right onto the story now...

:: Jake ::

The waiting is making me ache. I keep staring at the door, which was even creeping myself out. What was taking her so long?

Suddenly, I saw Ariana in front of me. I jumped with joy and hugged her tightly. But her face was emotionless and there was no response. I asked her worriedly, "Ariana! What happened to you? I was worried sick!" No reply.

I looked at her, puzzled. "Ariana?" She stared blankly at me, not making a move. "Ariana! Say something, please!" I half-screamed at her. But she still continue to look at me, not one emotion on her face.

"JAKE!" someone called my name. But there was no one else besides me and Ariana in the room... I blinked. Then I saw Shweta.

She shrieked. "Oh my gosh, you're awake! Finally!" I felt confused. That was all just a dream...? I shook the thought out of my head and muttered to Shweta in a I-don't-really-care voice, "Where's Ariana?"

Then, she frowned and looked disappointed. "They still aren't letting us in. I have no idea why!" I shrugged and said, "She's fine, right?" "I guess so, since I saw her sitting on her bed but she looks a little worried." Shweta said.

I continue to stare at the door like before. Ariana... be alright.

"Well, I'm sorry to tell you that..." there was a sense of hesitation in the doctor's voice. "What?!" Taylor squealed, losing patience.

The nurse went to calm her while Liz looked away. After a while, Taylor took a deep breath and said, "Spill." The doctor nodded and said calmly, "I'm sorry to say but I think you have food poisining." I held my breath and looked at Taylor, who seem to have went pale.

Liz gripped her hand tightly and mouthed, "It's okay." The doctor started asking questions. "Had anything in pacticular these few days?" Taylor started shaking her head crazily, her mouth gaping open.

Liz whispered but not soft enough so I can hear her say, "Calm down, Tay. Everything's gonna be fine." The doctor smiled a little, "It'll be fine, and it's quite normal anywhere. Now I ask you again, and please answer honestly. Did you have anything recently that might cause you to be like this?"

I look over to Taylor, who seem to stop shaking and looked at the doctor. She stammered, "I - I don't think so." The doctor nodded and turned to Liz, asking, "Did she take anything you didn't?"

Liz thought for a while and said, "Yes, that hot dog beside the road she badly wanted. I said it's not clean but she didn't listen. After that, she said it was delicious and I'd regret not having it. But now..." she looked at Taylor, disappointment filled her face as she sighed.

The doctor nodded again, taking notes. "Okay, that's it for now. I'm afraid the throwing up might continue... so I suggest you don't leave the hospital." Taylor looked at Liz, who nodded silently. "I'll check up on Miss Swift later this evening. For now, I better go see another patient. Jessica here will help you if you need anything."

Taylor just looked at the doctor helplessly, not saying a thing. He walked out of the room quietly.

Part of me felt glad I could still be with Taylor, another part of me felt sad because Taylor was sick. I said quietly, "Hey, at least it's only throwing up! Unlike me, fainting..." I tried to make a joke, but no one thought it was funny, as usual. But when I looked at Taylor, her face softened.

She smiled a little and said, "Oh Ariana... you're so cute." That made me grinned instantly. Just then, another doctor came in. He smiled as he saw Taylor, but turned to me and mom.

"Hi, are you Ariana Kennedy?" the doctor asked. "Yep, I am." I smiled a little at him. He nodded. Did all doctors do that? "I see you're up and doing well, that's great. All you have to do is remember to take the right medicine and you'd be perfect in no time."

I sighed with relief. Thank God! "Thank you." I said. He nodded, smiling at me. "I'll go now." Then he walked out of the room. 

As he walked out, I saw two people sitting outside the room. Wait wasn't that...
