I sat at the bar in the Mystic Grill drinking away the hurt I felt, the hole in my chest that Klaus created. It's been a week since that night, and I haven't seen or heard anything from him. I can't bare being apart from him like this.
"Rough night?" Damon's voice asked gently, bringing me back to reality. I glared at him. This is almost enitrely his fault; Klaus wouldn't have gone if Damon wasn't so god damn protective.
"Rough week," I said bitterly, chugging the rest of my drink and getting up to leave.
"Wait," Damon said, grabbing my arm. "I'm sorry. I was just trying to protect you..."
"I don't need you to protect me, Damon. I'm 800 years old, remember? I can make my own choices." He let go of my arm and backed away a little. "I know," he said softly. "You're like my sister... I guess I got a little overprotective." I stared at him for a little while, and then pulled him in for a big hug. "Of course I forgive you, you jerk," I said hugging him tightly. He kissed the top of my head.
"Sorry to interupt your family moment, but I've got a bit of a problem," Rebekah's voice said, cutting into our moment.
Damon shot her a dirty look and released me from the hug. "What do you want?" he asked as she approached us with Elijah following closely behind her.
"Six women were murdered last night, all of them with their throats torn out." she said, a little anxiously. Normaly this girl was a sarcastic bitch, but right now she seemed nervous. Worried, even.
"Why is that my problem?" Damon asked, still glaring at her. "It's not my fault that your family can't keep a low profile."
"I don't want your help," Rebekah snapped angrily at him. "I want yours," she said, turning her face towards me. I raised an eyebrow. "Why do you want my help?" I asked, a little confused. Rebekah's never spoken a word to me in my life, why would she want my help now?
"Because it's Klaus who's doing the murders. He won't talk to me... so I thought he might talk to you," Rebekah said, worry returning in her eyes. "I've never seen him love someone the way he loves you... I was hoping that you'd be able to bring him back."
"Perhaps he'll isten to you," Elijah added, his eyes boring into mine. "I've never seen him like this before," he sighed. "I just want my brother back. We'll be forever in your debt."
