The pack was having a hard time trying to figure out if my parents were wanted here by them. Cain wasn’t pleased with them or wanting anyone who hurt me in his pack. Austin was trying not to shift, while Gavin just had a blank look on his face. I was torn. Wait, no I wasn’t. I didn’t want them near me. I just feel sorry for them. The pack finally decided that they were okay with them in the pack, but they will still keep them away from me. The pack felt sorry, for them being in a bad pack with a horrible alpha, that’s the reason they told us for accepting them into the pack.
I was walking down the hall trying to find something to do, so I wouldn’t have to go back to laying down. I didn’t hear anyone near me, so I was surprised to find Ember hugging my stomach tightly. Is she trying to hurt my baby. Oh the baby. I jerked out of Ember's arms. I turned around, and she was smiling. What the hell had her smiling? Oh right, new pack, freedom, new boys, and finally Kevin. My so-called parents were smiling too.
“Oh Hunter isn’t this great?” Ember asked.
She started hugging my stomach tightly again. Doesn’t she ever learn. I jerked out of her arms again. Not caring that she was hurt.
“What are you talking about?” I asked confused.
“Our family can start fresh.” Ember said smiling. Kevin came and hugged her from behind.
I blew up hearing that statement from her lips. “Oh so now you guys want to start fresh with Gavin and I? I’d drop that pathetic dream if I was you Ember.”
“Hunter if you didn’t want to start over with us, then why did your pack accept us into theirs? You must have had something to make them accept us.” My father asked.
“Oh that? No I didn’t have anything to do with the pack accepting you. They did that on their own. They accepted you into the pack because they felt sorry for you. Nothing else. Cain, Gavin, Austin, and I didn’t have anything to with them accepting you.”
Their faces dropped and Kevin got pissed that his mate wasn’t happy. Kevin growled at me, I rolled my eyes and Kevin looked shocked that he had growled at me. Cain, Austin, and Gavin were by my side in an instant. They looked at Kevin like he was the enemy. Ember looked scared for her life.
“Kevin, don’t you dare growl at Hunter again. Do you understand?” Cain demanded. Kevin nodded his head, but still looked at me with a pissed off look.
“Kevin get that look off your damn face. You don’t know what I had to go through, by these people. They beat me till I was unconscious and even more then. They didn’t care about my life. They starved me, made me their maid. Made me do everything for them. Even their pack did that. All they did was laugh and smile. If something wasn’t done to their liking I had to do it again. And that’s only half of it. So, until you know what I had to go through, and until you take a walk in my shoes, then don’t you dare growl at me for not making Ember happy. I wanted to get away from my old pack, so when I did leave; I wouldn’t have to make the bitch happy anymore. It‘s your job to make Ember happy, not your alpha female.”
After I said that I blacked out. I think Cain was to one to catch me before I hit the ground.
Cain’s POV
I got Hunter into my arms before she hit the ground. My wolf was wanting to come out and tear them to shreds for hurting Hunter like that. Austin went to get the doctor so he could check on Hunter. I looked at her family and growled. They all went pale, because they were afraid. Good they should be. I heard little feet hitting the floor close to us. Sadie.
“Gavin take care of Sadie when she comes this way.” I said.
“Of course Cain. Take a step away from Hunter now!” Gavin demanded.
“Uncle Gavy what happened to mommy? Did the mean people hurt her?” Sadie asked.
She went up to them, and Stanton had her in his arms. I almost growled when Sadie hit him in the jaw. He almost dropped her. That’s when Gavin and me growled at him. He put her down and that’s when she kicked his leg. She went over to Lucy and hit her.
