Daddy's Girl

There's two things I know for sure
She was sent here from heaven
And she's daddy's little girl
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night
She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes
And I thank God for all of the joy in my life
Oh but most of all

“Daddy! Daddy!” Lily Potter called, hugging on to her father’s knees. Harry Potter chuckled as he bent down and swung her into his arms.

“Hello there sweetie” he smiled at her, laughing as her face broke out into a smile. He took his little girl into her room, and laid her in her bed. She climbed under the covers, and folded her hands together, praying. She did this every night, ever since she went to the church one Christmas. Harry sat on his knees, watching her silently pray. He closed his eyes, and thought of everything that was good in his life. His wife, his kids, his friends, his family-he was so thankful for it. He never thought he would be able to enjoy life so much.

“Goodnight, daddy” Lily said, leaning over to her father. She lightly brushed his cheek with her eyelashes, and hugged her father.

“Goodnight, sweetheart.” Harry said to his daughter, and walked out of the room.

Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair
Walk beside the pony daddy it's my first ride
I know the cake looks funny daddy but I sure tried

Harry and Lily were walking, when Lily grabbed some wildflowers from the grass.

“Daddy! Look, they’re so pretty!” she grinned. Harry chuckled, and pulled a couple of the white flowers through her hair. Lily giggled, and skipped around.

“Happy Birthday Harry” Ginny kissed him on the cheek as he walked into the kitchen.

“Thanks Gin” Harry replied, as his daughter ran into the room, followed by James and Albus.

“Daddy, guess what! We made you a cake!” Lily said excitedly. Ginny struggled to keep in her laughter, as her kids and husband went into the kitchen. The cake was yellow and red, with what appeared to be mops all over it.

“Scarlet and gold for Gryffindor, and broomsticks for Quidditch” Ginny breathed in his ear. Harry smiled.

“Thank you guys. It looks wonderful”

“We worked really hard on it” Lily told him, giving him a hug.

I must have done something right
To deserve a hug every mornin'
And butterfly kisses at night

Harry glanced at his young daughter, sleeping in her bed, and smiled. He would be forever thankful that he was still alive to have this life. To get a hug and kiss every day, from his little angel. To have three kids, a wonderful wife, and his best friends. After everything he went through, he would be forever grateful to have this life.

Sweet 16 today
She's lookin' like her mama a little more every day
One part woman the other part girl
To perfume and make up from ribbons and curls
Trying her wings out in a great big world
But I remember

“Dad, come on” Lily shouted from the door.

“I’m coming Lily, I’m coming!” Harry shouted, frustratedly looking for his shoes. “Accio!“ he finally shouted, watching them fly out at him from under the bed. He shook his head, not even bothering to wonder why they would be there. Walking downstairs, he looked at his daughter applying another coat of lip gloss to her lips. With her brown eyes and red hair, she looked like a miniature version of Ginny.

Harry sighed as he thought about his daughter, thinking about how time flew. It seemed like only yesterday he was pulling flowers through her hair, and watching her pray. Lily kissed him on the cheek as she jumped out of the car, running into the muggle restaurant to meet her friends.
