"Celine, pay attention!" I snapped my head up from my notebook and looked to my teacher, "Sorry." I looked over to Avary and she shrugged putting in her ear-buds, Marrisole gave a half hearted smile. I was the one always getting called out on in class, it's like my teacher had a personal grudge against me or something.
"Celine, would you please tell me what I just told the rest of the class." I gulped and sat up "I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention." He sneered "Well then you can pay attention in detention now can't you." I sighed slouching back into my desk, I wasn't one to argue.
Trinity sat up and whispered into my ear "He's such a dick, come on you can skip." I smirked "No, can do." She huffed behind me "You're no fun!" I smiled and Marrisole looked back at Trinity and rolled her eyes while Avary just bobbed her head to the beat blaring from her Ipod.
These, three lovely ladies would be my best friends. Except Avary is my sister, twin actually but we look nothing alike. Marrisole and me have been best-friends since we were in first grade, Trinity became a very close friend in fourth grade.
"Want me to get stuck after class so you wont be alone?" I sighed and turned around to her "Nah, I believe I will survive." She shrugged, and started tapping with her pencil "Ladies, will you be so kind to give me your attention." I turned around and Trinity spoke up "Sorry, we fell asleep." He glared at us, "Well then you can make up for it in detention, all of you."
Avary took out her ear-buds and glared at him and slowly recited "We don't have detention." His eyes glazed over and he looked lost, "You don't have detention." Avary smiled "I'm glad you came to your senses." He shook his head, and gave us a confused look then turned around and went back to his desk. Trinity smiled and Marrisole had a tiny smirk on her face, I couldn't help but frown at my sister.
"Oh lighten up, Cel. I got you out of detention." I gave her a look "That is still no right to mess with his free will." She shrugged "Free will is for those who can keep it." I sighed frustrated, my sister and me always saw everything on different terms. Marrisole patted my arm "It's ok, she didn't damage him." I raised a eyebrow "How do you know, Avary is capable of anything." Avary gave a evil smirk and flipped her long hair.
Trinity leaned forward "After school, I say we drive down to the old lake." Avary perked up "Yeah that sounds great." Marrisole grinned "Yeah, Celine are you going?" I looked up from my doodling, "Maybe, I'll see." Avary rolled her eyes and Trinity sighed sitting back, "Sure." Avary smiled "There you go."
I gave a fake smile as the bell rung for school to be ended and for the weekend to commence, I grabbed my bag and slung it up onto my shoulder. Marrisole stood up and grabbed her purse, "M. need a ride?" She smiled and rolled her eyes "Yeah, like always." I smirked "I don't know why your gran. wont just go ahead and buy you that old truck you want."
She shrugged "She said it would be better to work for it, but there is no way to work for anything in this dead beat town." I laughed, she wasn't wrong that is for sure here in Shadywillow not much happened. "How's your mom doing after her latest break up?" I sighed "Well we no longer have any ice cream or chocolate within our home, if you define that as ok."
Marrisole sighed, "Well, she'll get over it." I nodded "She always does." We walked to our lockers and I quickly slipped my books into my locker shutting it, "Come on." She closed her's and followed at my side to my old 1969 amc Rambler, "Are you sure you want to go to the lake?" I glanced at her and shrugged "If I don't Avary will torture me for it, you know how manipulating she has to be."
I slide into my car and felt the leather cool against the back of my legs, "Ok do you want to come over or go home and get ready?" She shrugged "Take me home." I nodded backing out of my parking space and starting down towards the dirt road that led to the neighborhood houses, "I'll get Trinity to give me a ride back to your house."
I nodded focusing onto the road instead of her half hearted conversation, she knew why I was like this. I was angry at Avary like usual, Marrisole knew I was dangerous when I was angry. It was impossible not to be angry at Avary though, what she did back at school wasn't right and she knew it.
