As the hours pass by,
Darkness enfolds the sky.
All living creatures are asleep,
Excluding the youth in a distant creek.
The night is eerie and silent,
Except for the winds blowing harsh and violent.
No living soul is in sight,
Only a fool would put himself in such plight.
However, this is no ordinary fool,
As he is the one that rules.
With a mysterious visage,
He uncovers a lyre adorned with jade.
Standing on the tallest of mountains,
He takes a deep breath and plays.
The melody travels through the night,
Enchanting every object within its flight.
The silence is not so strange anymore,
nor is the wind so coarse.
There is bliss in the air,
Pure tranquility everywhere.
Then suddenly, everything becomes still,
As if almost by magic.
The youth has stopped playing,
Distracted by nature, with eyes admiring.
"How beautiful is the silence!
Just brings serenity to my mind.
So mesmerizing is the night,
even without a speck of light!"
Truly nature has got its wonders,
Only if we wish to reveal those.
The sad part is though,
Most men are just not bothered to know.
