31 The hair in the corridor
One star winks between the horns of the moon; then the loop-the-loop dissolves, Raven's phone alarm rings, and the conference room returns, to enclose her in the Shard again.
Instinctively Raven scrabbles to get the phone out of her pocket and turns off the alarm, registering the time: she must return to the reception desk right away, or face the annoyance of the colleague who relieved her for this lunch break.
She pushes open the door and speeds back down the corridor. Halfway along it, scurrying past in the opposite direction, a guy from Accounts breaks into an admiring grin, gesturing at her hair: "Wow—Platinum Raven!" he says, and then is gone.
She stops in her tracks, staring after him.
Gingerly, her hands approach her hair...
