Prologue
I never expected my life to spiral out of control, it's funny how one night, one night which was supposed to be harmless fun turned my life into a wreck. It made me do things which I shouldn't have done and made me meet people that I regret.
I'm normally so quiet and reserved, I'm the controlled on in my crazy group of friends. The one night I decided to let myself go, is the night I changed, it wasn't gradually. It happened so quickly and I didn't even notice that it happened.
Here's my story...
Chapter One
"Lissie, can you come down here, I need to talk to you." My mom called from the front porch, when I came out she was sitting on the swinging chair looking at the stars in the night sky. She was dressed in a plain, baby blue Tee, and black skinny jeans. It was quite a casual look compared to the expensive, designer clothing she always wore. She looked back and saw me coming towards her and needlessly beckoned me to come towards though I already was.
"Yeah, Mom what do you want?" I asked nonchalantly. I knew what was she was going to say but last time I didn't let her tell me for herself she decided to add an extra week on to her seminar. Mom is always going on these seminars which aren't really what she says they are. She goes off to meet rich men in different countries, how do I know this? Well, every time she comes back, she has less underwear and more expensive jewellery, than Oliver would ever get for her.
Oliver is my mom's 27 year old boyfriend who actually seems to love my mother which just make me hate him. Why is he so stupid and naive and why can't he see what my mom really is? A multi-timing adulterer. When Mom and Oliver got married, she asked me to be her maid of honor but I refused stubbornly. "I'm going on a business trip to Paris in two days, and I will be gone for 5 weeks."
5 weeks!
No she couldn't go for that long, I can't stay alone for that long it's absolutely insane. The longest my mom had ever left me was 3 weeks but it would have been 2 if I didn't put my foot in my mouth. Her business trips always come simultaneously to when Oliver has to go on his real trips. So I'm always alone, but I normally invite Jay to come around, he doesn't mind though ever since his mom left his relationship with his dad had been getting worse. "Mom... you can't I..."
She interrupted me. "Don't worry, sweetie, you won't be alone."
"Wait. What?! You're not getting me a nanny are you?" I asked tentatively. I didn't need a nanny, I could brave it out for 5 weeks. I think. Mom and Oliver always gave me too much money for my allowance in had built up to the point where I had over five thousand dollars.
Mom grabbed my arm and pulled me towards, then pushing me on to the swinging chair with her. "Of course I wouldn't leave you alone for that long. Oliver is staying with you." She said smiling as if that was any better.
"Oliver? Oliver!!! But we've never even had a proper conversation how are we going to live together for 5 weeks?"
"He wanted to bond with you, to get to know you. Lissie he's making an effort the least you could do is make an effort in return."
"No." I stalked off away from my mom but not towards the house, towards the gate, towards Jay's house. He didn't live to far away from me only a 10 minute walk so it gave me time to think.
Oliver.
I didn't really want to be alone with him for that long, what if we had nothing in common it would just be awkward and I refuse to feel awkward in my own home.
Well, it's more Oliver's home than mine as he's the one that bought it, and the house is in his name.
I got there in a record 8 minutes after speeding up the pace, it was quite cold this evening. I knocked on the door to his house, and his dad's girlfriend, Kendra, opened the door. I couldn't help but dislike Fiona, she seemed fake and annoying almost like my mom but without the promiscuity. Her hair was died yellow, instead of blond. She had a boob job so she was 2 cup sizes bigger then she was before, and she wore slimming clothes underneath her summer frocks.
