interview with iKenneth15

>What is your full name?

My full name is Kenneth Joshua Labis :D

>Where are you from?

I'm from Davao City Philippines but im currently living in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. xD

>When and why did you begin writing?

Well, I started to write stories a few days after August 31, 2011. I can't remember when exactly. And I began to start writing because I got inspired by so many books, and one day, I just decided to give it a try.

>When did you first consider yourself a writer?

Maybe after I published my book "lured in"? I don't know, it just felt like I wrote something unique(which really isn't xD) and I was like "Hey, I think i'm a writer now." Lol, but writing is just my hobby.

>What inspired you to write your first book?

Umm, there's a friend of mine whom we've been teasing cuz he has a crush on someone and eventually everyone knew about it. And he has his goofy ways on trying to hide it. It's funny actually, like looking the other way when his crush passes by him. So I just mixed reality with fiction. And bam, my first book.

>Do you have a specific writing style?

Well kinda, I give my readers a mysterious prologue, then surprise them with twists that they'll never see it coming on the upcoming chapters of my story.

>How do you come up with a title?

It depends on the plot of my story.

>What books have influenced you the most?

The Chronicles of Narnia, and the Percy Jackson books(dont know what the chronicles are called)...I just love everything that has to do with fantasy, with all the unique elements in it.

>If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

Iownelephants, she's awesome. The way she writes her stories is just fantastic.

>What book are you reading now?

The Host by Stephanie Meyer, I bought it a long time ago (a very long time) and I forgot to read it, so yeah. Can't wait for the movie to come out xD

>Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

Well, not.......yet

>What are your current projects?

Pride of Life , Inescapable and Lured in.

>Do you see writing as a career?

Actually, no. Like I said, it's just a hobby. :D

>Do you recall how your interest in writing started?

Yes absolutely, it motivates me to keep writing.

>Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Yeah, I have to expand my vocabulary range. I keep on repeating the same word over and over again. That's why everytime I'd write a chapter, Dictionary.com,Thesaurus.com and Google Translate are always open in my browser. lol.

>Who is your favourite author and what is it that strikes you about their work?

C.s Lewis, his books are amazing. The way he imagined and created a whole new world in his books are just plain Awesome. Awesome times ten raised to the power of infinity xD

>Who designed the cover?

I design all of my covers :P

>What is your favourite part of a book?

The climax, it's usually the part when things start to heat up.

>Who are your target readers?

The Fantasy & Romance readers. I write all of my stories in the Fantasy & Romance genre, those two genres always go together.

>What are the major themes of your work?

Fantasy. Unusual stuff, lion shifters, hybrids, new worlds, new creatures. The list goes on and on.

>What do you think people search for in a book?

Something unique, something no one has ever thought of. Things that you want to explore and embrace as you read each chapter. :D

>Do you use real-life facts based on true stories?

Yes, definitely.

>Did you ever think you would become an author?

No, haha.

>Have you always been good at writing?

That's something I can't answer. I don't know if Im good at it or not, only the readers would tell.

>How do you get started with writing a story (how do you start developing the story, where do you get the inspiration)?

I get my inspiration from everywhere. One time, I stumbled into a Kesha music video on youtube, and the way she acted gave me an idea. So yeah, pretty much everywhere.

>How much do you feel you’ve improved in the last few years?
