Rightfully His

I know this is late but with my time, it's only an hour late. No excuse I know! I just wanted to make it better so I changed a little bit.

I think most of you know that this is coming to an end and I've yet to decide on whether I will do a sequel or a new story all together. I'm just concerned about dragging on this storyline too long and ruining this one. It'll be decided soon though.

                        Chapter 40

Daniel’s POV:

            “Is that supposed to mean something to me?” I raised my eyebrow questioningly. She didn’t look familiar nor did her name ring a bell.

            “No, it shouldn’t I suppose.” She flushed and looked down nervously. I shifted my weight and crossed my arms impatiently.

            “Will you get to the part where you tell me you know something about the whereabouts of my mate?” She flushed again and swallowed uneasily.

            “Of course, right.” She nodded quickly and looked around shiftily. “Can we talk in a more private place? This is a pressing matter and requires a quick response. We don’t have much time.” She frowned at the last part.

            I sighed and nodded. If she really knew something about Tinsley then I would do just about anything at the moment. She followed after me quickly, trying to stay as far away from the guards as possible. I’ll admit, this Kristi girl is definitely skittish. It’s pretty obvious it wasn’t her idea to come her, by herself. I sat down behind my desk and gestured towards the chair in front of me. Kristi hesitantly sat down and checked behind her, taking note of the three remaining guards.

            “Talk.” I demanded.

            “The Alpha that borders your back to the south has your Luna. Alpha Blake ordered the abduction of your mate and it is he that is holding her captive.” I leaned forward in my chair and studied her, looking for any signs of dishonesty.

            “And how do you know this? Are you a member of his pack?”

            “I am.” Warning bells rang in my head.

            “A pack member turning in her own Alpha? How do I know you aren’t just a disgruntled pack member who isn’t happy with her Alpha?” Anger flashed through her eyes before she masked it again.

            “His son, Adrian, is set to take over the pack tonight.” What is with this girl and telling me meaningless information.

            “And?” I asked flatly.

            “As tradition calls for, Adrian must be mated before he takes on the Alpha title. Not all packs run that way but ours does.” Meaningless information.

            “Again, and?” I was starting to believe she knew nothing and was stalling.

            “Alpha Blake intends for Adrian to mate with Tinsley, your Luna.” I stood from my seat so fast, the chair flew to the ground.

            “What?” I growled, feeling my wolf come to the surface.

            Fear filled her eyes as she cowered away from me. A part of me felt guilty for scaring her but this is my mate we’re discussing! My mate being forced to mate with someone who isn’t me! Rage rippled through me at the mere thought of someone forcing her to mate. Disgust followed soon after. How can someone force another person to do that? Don’t they know that’s called rape? Not to mention that fact that you’d have to be pretty stupid to take an Alpha’s mate.
