Chapter 15:
Agnes' P.O.V
The week passed by quickly, and we all were on our way back home for the weekend. Trevor was coming along as well, but he rode in the car with my dad. Cynthia still hasn't met him yet, and I couldn't wait til we got home and to see the look on her face when she does meet him. It's unfortunate that Trevor's brother is so dedicated to Gordon and his wicked ways, my heart just goes out to Trevor. Brandon is the only family he has left after Gordon himself murdered their parents in cold blood right in front of them and then made them swear allegiance to him on the spot.
At least with our pack, Trevor will feel at home and safe. He definitely won't be living like a rogue, and trying to survive solely on what nature has to provide. From what I saw in Trevor's memory the day we caught him, Gordon has been forcing them to live in the woods in their wolf form mostly, just staking out the school, watching our every move. They rarely got to sleep in warm beds, shower, eat normal food, and live happy lives. Trevor was tormented daily by his older brother, because Brandon knew that Trevor didn't want to belong to Gordon's so called pack. He missed his parents tremendously, and Brandon himself was an evil bastard that didn't care that his family was slain right before their eyes.
Brandon and his parents weren't seeing eye to eye, because he wanted to do things his way, and not the way of their pack. He was thinking of just abandoning the pack anyways before Gordon came along. Trevor was devastated to learn the truth about his brother, and how he could easily betray his family and his pack.
'Agnes, I'm going to need you and Antony in my office when we get home. I need to talk to you about something important.' My dad said through our mind link, interrupting my thoughts of Trevor and his brother.
'Alright...see you in about twenty minutes.' I said back to him.
'Antony, my dad wants us to meet him in his office when we get home. He wants to talk to us about something. Okay?' I told him through our mind link, so I didn't wake up Ava. Like always, she was fast asleep on our way home.
'Do you know what about?' Antony asked back, and I shook my head no.
We arrived home, and I went inside quickly. I wanted to see my mother before my dad had his "talk" with us. It seemed like I missed her more and more! I found her in the kitchen making dinner, humming softly to herself. I walked up behind her and wrapped my arms around her shoulders, and gave her a tight hug. She jumped a little, because she didn't hear me enter the kitchen.
"Oh, Agnes! You startled me!' my mom laughed nervously and returned the hug smiling widely at me.
"Sorry, mom. I thought you heard me come in!" I told her, laughing a little myself at her reaction. "I missed you a lot! I don't know why, but I find it harder and harder to leave you here by yourself, and go off to school. Maybe it's because of Viktor and my nightmares that I have had of him taking you!" I confided to her.
"Oh, sweetie! You don't need to worry so much! I'm fine! Really! Besides...if he does find me...just remember not to panic. I have been doing a lot of studying on the internet of new magic that he might be using, and have been equipping myself here at home to protect me and the baby from him. If it doesn't work...I know you will be able to find me. I have faith in you...because you have become not only physically stronger...but also magically and mentally stronger." my mother said, holding my shoulders at arms length.
"I know...but the thought of even "temporarily" losing you still scares the hell out of me!" I said, shuddering from the mere thought of losing my mother.
"Everything is going to be alright! Just keep that pretty little head of yours clear and focused." she smiled warmly at me. "Now, go see what your father wants with you and Antony." With that said, I turned and left the kitchen and headed down the hall to my father's office, where Antony was already seated in one of the seats in front of my dad's desk, and my dad seated in his chair behind the desk.
"Well, it's about time!" Antony joked, and I shot him a playful glare.
"I was talking to my mother, so hush up!" I said, as I sat down next to Antony.
"Well, now that I have both of you here...I need to discuss the issue of our packs." my father announced in his calm Alpha tone. "Agnes, you have Alpha blood running through you, and Antony, you are the Apha of your own pack...and seen as how you and Agnes are fully mated..."he trailed off.
