Everything About You: Chapter 1
"Oh my gosh!" Mary yelled at the bright flashing TV, I turned the direction of the TV. A band was singing and dancing around on the stage.
"Who are they?" I asked with a mouth full of cereal, pointing my spoon at the TV. Mary's head whipped around looking wide eyed at me.
"You don't know One Direction?" She shouted, I blinked back in surprise.
"I wasn't asking about any One Direction, I'm asking who those losers are on the TV," I said flatly, I turned back to my cereal and scooped up the last bite.
"One Direction is the most amazing band in the whole wide world!" My older sister yelled, I shook my head putting my dish in the sink.
"If they're so great then why haven't I heard about them?"
"Cause your only friend is a guy, and guys don't like boy bands," She said glaring at me, I blushed.
"I have other friends to," I said quietly, Mary ignored me and stared at the screen like a little kid on Christmas eve.
"So I take it that means you wont be giving me a ride to school?" I asked, snatching up my back pack. She continued to ignore me, her mind only focused on the TV. I rolled my eyes, two minutes and I already hate the band.
I opened the door, and stepped out into the spring air. Graduation was only two weeks away, and I was more then ever ready for school to end. The wind whipped around me, my blonde hair flying away from my head.
"Hey June!" The familiar voice called out, I turned and smiled at my best friend, Chris.
"Oh, Hey!" I said, stepping off the porch, and onto the slick pavement.
Mary had promised us to give us a ride to school every day of every year, but always ended up slacking out. She was supposed to be entering in college but she's just the kind of person who slacks off a lot.
"Guess what we get to ride today," I said in a sarcastic excited tone, Chris rolled his eyes, I bounced over to him, started to walk the direction of the bus stop.
"So you ready for graduation?" He glanced over at me, I shrugged. I was defiantly ready to get out of that prison, but I'd miss my friends.
"Oh come on, you have to be at least a little excited?" He said, trying to get my talk more. I was a shy person, it was just my nature.
"Oh look we're here," I said when we reached the bus stop, trying to change the subject.
"Whatever, June." Chris sighed, knowing he'd get no where with me. I could be stubborn at times, and he knew it. The bus stop was deserted, no one in sight. Most high school kids had a car or a person to drive then to school. Sadly I didn't own a car, and neither did Chris.
The bus pulled up, the tires screeching as it came to a stop in front of us. I walked on before Chris and slid into a seat. Chris slumped down next to me, He always sat by me, but never really talked to me. He had many other guy friends on the bus,he'd much rather talk to them.
I starred out the window, watching objects fly by. My mind wandered to the band my sister loved, One Direction. Come to think of it, the name sounded familiar. I think my friend Olivia said she was going to a concert that was in town by them. Weird I guess I need to pay more attention to my surroundings. I wondered where else I had heard them before?
"Hey June, are you going to sit there all day?" One of Chris's friends walked passed me, stepped off the bus after Chris. I blushed, standing up, gathering my backpack. I muttered an apology to the bus driver and hurried off.
I jogged up the front steps and walked into the wretched school. Ready for two more weeks? I asked myself.
Two weeks later
"Five, four," The class was chanting together as the clock ticked, almost time for school to end forever, well at least until college.
"Three, two, one!" Everyone screamed as the bell rang out, books were pushed off desks and papers were tossed in the air, slowly floating down, catching on the wind. I stood up packing up my things, a smile played on my lips. School was finally over, and I had all summer to relax.
Chris wasn't here because his family had gone to Mexico for the whole month, leaving me all alone. I opened my locker, grabbing my coat, slamming the metal door for the last time. I found that I was humming to a One Direction song. Man did I really hate there catchy songs!
