"Little Love"

I was held in his arms for over an hour. I didn't ever want him to let me go, but well I had to tell him. Now was as good as any. I sighed & pulled back away from him. "You know that you aren't as cold anymore?" he mumbled. "Huh? I'm not?" I raised an eyebrow.

"No." Tyler smiled, "C'mere, & keep me warm." he said & held out his arms for me to snuggle against him. As much as that sounded good right now, I know that I couldn't do that quite yet. "Look, Ty..." I whispered hoarsely. I was afraid that he would think that I was a freak too, if I told him the truth.

"It's better if we both just stop pretending now while we can. " I muttered. "Huh? What are you talking about?" Tyler dropped his arms & looks at me like I've lost my mind or something. "Tyler, I know for a fact that you know exactly what I'm talking about."

"Okay...?" He leans against the rocky edge. "Okay look. I know that I'm a freak. You know that I'm a freak. There problem solved. "

"What problem? I don't understand why you let people get under your skin like that. Thought you didn't listen to those rumors?"

"Yeah, well fat chance of me being something I'm not for the past hundred years. " Oops! I clapped a hand over my mouth. My eyes growing wide. He was definitely not supposed to know about that! "What? Hundred years? What are you talking about?"

"Oh...nothing..." I mumbled. "Haylee...whatever this secret that your keeping from me, you can tell me." tears ran down my cheeks. Man, I was seriously losing it with him. "I can't." I muttered. I stepped away from him. He stepped forward.

"Please Haylee? I promise, I won't make fun of you." 

"Yes...I know you will. & that's why I have to leave." 

"Leave? Why would you want to leave...we just got here!"

I shook my head; "No! I mean I need to leave for good. Before, something bad happens." 

"Bad? Haylee...what are you talking about?" he reached out a hand towards me. I step back, arch my back & growl.

He looks at me in surprise. "Haylee?" he stumbles backward. I've transformed. He knows it & I know it. "Haylee? What's wrong with you...?" he hasn't moved a muscle. I hiss at him. My canines have grown longer & inch to my chin.

My hair grows out longer & my eyes turn to a piercing silver. "What's wrong with you? Why are you acting this way?" he starts to back up against the rocks. "Tyler..." I whisper hoarsely trying to sound more human han vampire.

"Haylee?" he whispers. "Run!" I hiss at him. He hesitates then does the exact opposite. "No. I'm not going anywhere." I growl so loud that he covers his ears. "Go! Run! Get away from me...I can't control...it!" I shift into my defensive position.

"Run! Why won't you run?" I whisper. He shakes his head, "Haylee...I'm not going to run away from you no matter...what this is." Tyler states. "Your not afraid of me...?" I ask slowly. My brain was trying to process what he was saying.

"No. I'm not afraid of you." Tyler says; stepping towards me. I hiss, my fangs gleaming in the setting sun. "You should be. Tyler, you should be. I'm the one thing that makes people run away scared. Something that makes people shake with fear & makes them run away hidin under their covers at night. You aren't frightened by my appearance?"

"No." he says. "You aren't like that Haylee. I know you aren't." 

"But...do you know what I am?" 

"Yeah, of course I do. Your you. " he smiles.

I shake my head at him, "No, that's...not what I meant. I mean, do you know what I am? 'Cuz surely you don't think that just anybody can just do this." I gesture to my form. "Umm, well I'm guessing that you aren't human?" he asks.

"Nope. Try again." I said. I blink once, "I give up Haylee, just tell me." 

"No..." I whisper. "I..can't." 

"Why?" 

"Because you won't want to be around me anymore." my voice starts to shake. "Just tell me. I'm not planning on leaving you. Not now, not ever."

"Tyler...I'm...a vampire." I breathe out slowly.
