The next morning, Claire went on a private hunt to find out who was the one who had told Heath about her meeting with Aiden. Maybe she should’ve just dropped it since the small argument between them didn’t last long and it wasn’t even that serious. But Claire couldn’t let it go. Who was giving Heath information about her when he wasn’t around to hear about it himself?

Of course, the first group of people she asked were the ones who were at the front reception desk. They were there when Jane came in and they heard about how she wanted a private conversation with Claire.

Luckily, those who worked yesterday in the morning were the same ones today and Claire had the chance to ask them if they told Heath about what happened. They all denied doing such a thing, and even looked like they would’ve never even thought about such an idea.

“If it wasn’t you guys, then who told him?” she asked as she crossed her arms over her chest.

They were surprised before one said, “The boss found out? How?”

Claire raised an eyebrow. “Why do you think I asked you guys in the first place?”

“Why would we snitch you out to the boss when we’re more afraid of you than him?” one of the employees said and Claire found herself grinning from his words.

“Aren’t you funny?” She said in a dry, but humored, tone. “But if it wasn’t you guys, then how exactly could Heath have found out?”

They just looked amongst themselves as if there was a traitor in the group. Claire eyed the four receptionists, but none of them looked guilty. Eventually, she just sighed to herself, concluding that she reached a dead end and may probably never find out who it was that told Heath about Jane and Aiden.

“You know, it’s not like we’re the only ones who are suspicious.”  One receptionist said. “After that woman came, other employees saw too and they spread the news like a wildfire. Practically all of the hotel knew about that information by the time you finished your conversation with the woman.”

“Yeah.” Another chimed in. “Even the temporary boss knows too. She was looking for you right after you left. But then again, maybe she doesn’t know since she wasn’t there the first t-”

Claire quickly interrupted her. “Wait a minute. You’re telling me Julia was looking for me and you guys told her where I was?”

“She went into your general direction after we told her where you and the woman walked off to.”

Could it have really possibly been Julia who told Heath? She probably listened on to their conversation before giving Heath a call. Claire thought they weren’t on good terms, so why would Julia call Heath and get him to even believe her words? Did people usually trust the words of someone they didn’t like?

And just what did Julia want to accomplish by telling Heath about Jane? Unless she wanted to purposely cause a riff in Claire and Heath’s relationship? Of course, information like that would cause misunderstandings, but luckily, Heath was understanding and trusted in Claire. But if he hadn’t, then there definitely would’ve been problems.
