Just because I choose not to rhyme
Doesn't mean I can't, I just don't have the time.
My life's a bit busier than yours, a bit more stressful
And you can't honestly tell me yours is anything but sublime
It simply takes far too long to devise
A poem that rhymes and is still a decent size
One that is still something unique, left untried
We both know how you think it's always going to be a reprise
When I can sit down is the only time I can write
Unlike you, my spare time is kept kind of tight
Left composing in the midst of various intervals of interruptions
And of course, always at some ungodly hour of night.
And while you can find the time to redesign your product line
Don't expect me to incline my head just to keep you in line
I really don't think you care at all about the rest of us
'Cause all I see reflected in your eyes is a dollar sign
So, don't tell me I can't rhyme
Because I think we both know, I don't usually have the time
You can accomplish your hearts content, and that's fine
You have the spare time, but I can't keep rhyming a prime.
