The wedding was the most beautiful wedding I had ever been to and I cried. A lot of us cried. I was so happy for Fire and I was happier that his mum didn’t show up.

The wedding had finished and everyone was headed towards the reception and I was in the car with Harvey and he was being quiet.

“That was so pretty.”

“Yeah I’m happy Liam’s happy.” He said smiling.

“I’m happy Fire’s happy Harvey.” I said back.

He laughed and looked away from the road and at me.

“You look beautiful Destiny.”

“Awwww, thank you Harvey!”

He smiled and then sighed.

“Why did you sigh Harvey?”

“Tired.” He said.

“Didn’t you get a good night’s sleep?” I asked watching him.

He was silent for a bit before he spoke.

“I’m just tired of not being able to be alone with you.”

“We’re alone right now.”

“I wanna hold you D.”

I put my head on his shoulder and smiled.

“It will always baffle me how I ended up with you Destiny. I ask God this every night.”

“Why?"

“You’re not the girl I imagined I’d end up with.”
I frowned and he looked at me and noticed.

“Nah D. I’m not being rude.”

“I know but I don’t get what you mean Harvey.”

“You’re so different to everything I thought I ever wanted in a girl. You’re with me and hold your own all at once. It’s kinda rare.”

“Oh.”

“Your mum told me you loved me.”

“MY MUM?” I asked in shock.

He laughed.

“Yeah she calls me a lot D and I really like her. She wants to meet my mum and the family.”

I sighed because I was scared of how my mum would behave around Harvey’s family. I was actually scared of how my family would behave around Harvey’s family.

“I’m scared my uncles will get drunk and fight each other.” I told him.

They did that all the time.

“WHAT?!”

“Yeah. That’s what they do.”

“Wow.”

I sighed and kissed his cheek.

“Don’t start.” He warned.

I laughed and put my hand on his lap.

“Destiny.”

“Harvey.”

“Destiny.”

“Harvey.”

“Destiny.”

I burst out laughing.

“Why does that always make you laugh?” he asked laughing with me.

“I don’t know Harvey.”

“O yeah! Before I forget D please, PLEASE don’t get into any fights tonight. If anyone pisses you off, let me know and I’ll sort it out.”

“Okay.”

“Good good.”

“So when are we getting married?” I asked.

“What?”

“When are we getting married?”

“You wanna marry me?”

“I love you Harvey. That’s what people do when they’re in love.”

He chuckled and looked at me for a few seconds.

“Hmm. I hear you D. I hear you.”

Then his phone started ringing and he picked up and put it on loudspeaker.

“Where you at Bob Marley?”

It was Shannon.

“Similar in only dreads fam.” Harvey replied laughing.

“Yeah yeah where you at?”

“About fifteen minutes away.”

“So you and Destiny didn’t try and have sex in the car?”

“Shannon you’re a perv.” I told him.

He burst out laughing.

“Get off my line Tyrese.”

“Respect me please.” Shannon replied.

“Nah g, you must think I’m Lyric. I don’t respect the rejected.”

I heard a girl laughing.

“Stace is that you?” Harvey asked.

“Yup.”
“Please address your peasant and let him know not to talk to me like that again.” Harvey told her.

“I dun told him not to mess you Dreads.”

“Stacey I’m warning you. Don’t start.”Harvey warned her.

“But baby you’ve got dreads.”

“Okay Halle Berry.” He said making Shannon and someone else in the car laugh.
