Prologue

There have been many times in my life that I have wondered how I came to be where I was. Today is no different.  Well, may be a little different.

Today, I am not the eight-year-old standing in the hallway of the school, a broken trophy case at my feet. Nor is today the day when the principal found a teacher’s wallet in my locker, which by the way, I totally did not steal. 

And for those of you wondering, I did not break the trophy case either.

Today is also not the day when I found myself drunk and alone at a party full of strangers. Actually, that was last night.

Today is the day that I am hiding in the woods, in a hollow of a tree praying to God to spare my life.
