I strolled through the school gates with my head held high. Despite all of the school work and annoying teachers, school was my favourite place to be, school was where I had power. I liked that people moved out of my way in the hall ways. I liked it when the younger kids ran up to me at lunch break and begged to be my friend. I liked that I could start fashion trends with the snap of my fingers. Like I usually did, I got several glances and waves from people as I walked through the school. Everybody knew who I was, I was Danni French, the girl who all of the guys wanted and all of the girls wanted to be.
I had almost arrived at where I sat with my friends when some dorky looking boy bumped into me. The cup of orange juice that he had in his hand spilt all over my brand new pink shirt, I was definitely unhappy. In the distance I could see my friends laughing at me, I would’ve been laughing at me too; I knew that I must’ve looked ridiculous. I looked at the dorky boy who bumped into me. He had rather short, dark, wavy hair, deep blue eyes and big glasses.
“Watch where you’re going you dork! I should make you pay for a new shirt; I only bought this one yesterday!” I exclaimed. The boy looked extremely anxious and unsure of what to do, I was glad he was anxious, nobody got away with embarrassing me.
“I’m... I’m sorry, it w…was an accident,” he stuttered. I rolled my eyes at him.
“You know what isn’t an accident?” I asked. He didn’t say anything, he just looked at me with I blank expression. I saw some kid with an ice cream cone in his hand nearby. I snatched the ice cream from the kid and put it in the dork’s hair. I made sure I squished it in enough so that it’d be hard for him to get it out. “That,” I added.
Everybody who was watching began to laugh, even the chubby kid who I stole the ice cream from. The dork looked humiliated, after a few moments he ran away looking quite upset. I was glad he was upset; at least he wouldn’t be stupid enough to not watch where he’s going next time. I turned around and walked over to my friends, they were all still laughing about what I had done. My best friend Abbie rushed to my side and examined the mess on my shirt.
“Don’t worry, the juice should come out after it’s been washed,” Abby told me.
“Good,” I replied. I quickly glanced at where my crush, Liam Adams was sitting, him and his friends were still laughing, I was just relieved that he wasn’t laughing at me anymore. He and his friends always sat with my friends, which I thought was awesome as it gave me more opportunities to flirt with him. I wanted him to be mine; I knew we were perfect for each other.
Abby pulled a blue shirt out of her backpack and passed it to me. I gave her a curious look.
“Why do you carry spare clothes around with you?” I inquired.
“You never know when you might need them,” she told me. “Do you want me to come with you to the bathrooms so that you can get changed into it?” she asked. I considered her offer, but then an even better idea came to my mind.
“Don’t worry Abby, there’s no need,” I replied. Suddenly I pulled my dirty pink shirt over my head, showing everybody the brand new lacy white bra I had bought for myself. Liam and his friends all stopped laughing and stared at me in shock. I was glad that I was the centre of attention, it made me feel a lot less comfortable about the fact that I wasn’t wearing a shirt. After I felt that I’d let the boys look for long enough, I put the clean blue shirt on.
I looked around; I had attracted everybody’s attention. As my gaze glided over the people who were staring, I noticed Cassidee Smith looking at me in complete disgust. I had known Cassidee ever since I had started school. Over the years Cassidee and I grew to hate each other, we were completely different people. Unlike me, Cassidee was a nerdy teacher’s pet, she passed every single test that she was given and she always did as she was told. She despised popular people like me and always tried to make me look stupid.
Abby and I looked at each other, we knew what to do. We both stood up and walked over to where Cassidee was.
